Early-Mid October- Boardwalk Availability

I've never been there either but would it be easier to get in within the 7 month window? What's BCV like compared to BWV?

I think that BCV will be at least as hard as SV BWV, because of it's even closer proximity to Epcot's entrance.

BCV and BWV "preferred view" (or Boardwalk view) are the same amount of points. Because there are more BWV villas, I think you would have a better chance of getting into BWV than BCV. We should be getting close to your 7 month booking date, I hope that you get something that you want!

2 BR Std view will be very hard to get for Oct.

2 weeks ago we booked a 2 BR for 10/6-10 at BWV, and all that was left was prefered view. Boardwalk and std views were all gone.

I have booked a two bedroom at SSR for two weeks at the 11 month window starting 12th October. For the last three nights we would like to try somewhere else preferably an Epcot resort. If these are both booked can I book at Villas at Wilderness Lodge for the final three nights and waitlist for an Epcot resort?

We really like SSR but would like to have a change at the end of our vacation as an extra to look forward to but do not fancy OKW. We are taking another family with us for the whole two weeks (as well as another for our first week!) and would really like them to get the feel for staying on site at WDW and we are coming from UK.

I have alread booked time off work so that I can book day by day which means a 2.00 p.m. start as we are 5 hours behind so have two afternoons booked off work.

It really is getting exciting as well as complicated!!

I definitely think this thread should be added to the "buy where you want to stay" library. There is nothing wrong with wanting to stay somewhere non-home, it just seems to be getting harder to do.

I am not sure we can be included in the "buy where we want to stay" because we do want to stay at SSR but as we come over from the UK we will stay for at least 2 weeks and would like to have a bit of a change for the final few days. We have always liked to do two centre holidays in the past. The first time we went to WDW in 1992 we had our second week in Jamaica. We are used to 2 centre vacations. Something that our guide assured us was still possible!

Next year we hope to do the cruise as well as a stay at SSR. In future years we have been thinking of a week at SSR and a week on an exchange in another part of the US. So at which ever resort we would have bought at we would want to have a few days elsewhere. However SSR is the resort we wanted to stay at the most.

I hope this makes sense!

We love DVC and so have just come back from an exchange in the UK and have used our points at Disneyland Paris. I am a real fan of DVC.

Looking to get in (7 month window) mid October. I have my SSR ressie already.

I fear there will be alot of us on the phone. Your date includes myself, my daugther and her family, and our NY friends. Sounds like the phones will be busy as we all try to get into the same resorts.

Good Luck to all of you! I called on the first day the 11-month window opened up for my dates in Oct. I called day by day to secure our 2-bedroom standard view.

I called MS yesterday just to check to see what availability was for our October dates, and she said there were "plenty" of 2BRs available at both the BCV and BWV..
Needless to say I know this will change in the next 2 weeks, and right at the 7 month window we'll be a callin! I was absolutely floored when she said there was still lots of availability at those 2 resorts!

Another thought is that some of those booked at the 11 months at BCV or BW may wish to spend some time at another resort for a few days and move their booking.

I am really optimistic and look forward a happy outcome.

Congrats!! I really hope you get them, but I am confused...your sig says you are staying in a Grand Villa? Did you change your mind on that one?

I had to move my dates to 10/1 and go with the preferred view, but I got into the BWV.

Another question: I have heard it is possible to "trade" your point back into DVC for another resort? Or something like that? Has anyone heard of that?

I booked a 1 bdr SV for mid-late Oct 2006. I called the first day of my 11 month window and had planned to finish the resevation on the last day. MS rep told me that she "strongly, strongly reccomended calling day by day for SV." So, that's what I did. I have no idea how hard it will be a 7 mos-good luck! :sunny:

What are the chances of getting a studio in mid-October with a Boardwalk View? Assuming I call day by day and utilize the wait list if necessary.

Right now, I am on the wailist for a Studio BWV for 4 nights: 10/16 -10/19. We already have the BWV for 10/10 to 10/15. Of course, if the SV I am also waitlisted for comes thru for all 10 nights, I will be giving up my BWV!

For what its worth, we were on a waitlist for a 1BR BWV for 10/10/05 and it finally came thru the very last day! If you are flexible and don't mind waitlisitng day-by-day, there is certianly hope!

Good luck -- Suzanne

We have BCV booked for mid October, but I'm planning on switching over to BWV. (We're going to BCV for NYE and I don't want to stay there twice so closely together.) The October trip will just be DH and myself.

Can I book a BWV preferred view studio and still get on a waitlist specifically for a BW view if it is not available?

Yes, I did exactly that for trip last Dec. - took the pref BWV & WL'd for stand. We got it but, changed over to WLV when that WL became available (we WL'd for it too).

good luck, especially since I'm WL'd for BCV myself mid-Oct.;)
