I'm looking at the weather report slowly creep to the ten day window and I see all that rain popping up.

Super extended forecast shows more rain incoming.

I live in a rainy state and knew March was 50/50 with rain in CA, so I can only be upset at myself.

At least I know to triple up on ponchos or even just pack my rain slicker. My Keens river sandals will be seeing plenty of use this trip.

Im just hoping for one day of parades and fireworks. Magic Happens right????

10 day forecast for rain isn’t usually very accurate at all here, we don’t usually pay much attention until 2-3 days out and even then it can change wildly. Usually it doesn’t actually rain, or doesn’t rain much, to be honest. Even with multiple days of 40-50% chance of rain in the 10 day forecast like right now will probably turn into one or two days of showers, although there could be heavy rain, too.

Definitely bring good shoes and a poncho or jacket, because better prepared than not, but I wouldn’t worry too much at this point. By no means is rain a 50/50 proposition in March, or any month. Don’t despair!

There is another winter storm on the horizon. It WILL rain, the unknown is how much and on what days.

Keens are not the best choice here for a winter rain storm. It is going to be cold and likely windy as well. Your feet will freeze in Keens. Plan for a more substantial shoe or rain boot. Don't wear jeans. Ponchos are also not a great option...I'd recommend a longer raincoat and a large umbrella. Rain here tends to be spotty and will come in heavy bursts. Use the hourly forecast for your weather app to plan your attractions accordingly. Many outdoor rides will go down in the rain.

I've been to DLR several times when it rained buckets.. but not all day. It might pour for a while and there will be water everywhere and then poof, the sun comes out! It's kind of crazy.

If it does rain, it may be light or heavy but probably not a consistent downpour.

It will also likely mean lower crowds.

When it's a downpour, there's not much that I've tried that worked very well. Water splashes up under your rain gear, down inside your boots, up your sleeves, etc. That's when you head for the indoor stuff and avoid long walks, especially if there's also wind. It's a good time to have a meal indoors (Hearthstone, Ballast Point, etc).

Or embrace it and ride Splash (if it's still open), Pirates, etc.

Then suddenly, it can all change! It's pretty amazing.

I hope you have a blast and don't get too wet!

This is exactly why I wish they would get rid of the reservations. In the past when we did a trip we would usually stay for 5-7 days in the area and plan on 3-4 park days. Without reservations we could then vary our parks days depending on weather or tired feet, etc. Now I assume that if it rains you have no choice but to go and endure it on your scheduled day.

We were actually thinking of running down in 2 weeks for a couple days to burn some flight credits before they expire, but I saw that weather report also and it has us rethinking it. Rain when it is 70+ out isn't so bad. Rain when the highs are in the 50s..... not for me. That said, 2 weeks out is a long time away for weather reports so here's wishing you luck and sunshine instead!

You can cancel a park reservation up to 24-hours before. This would mean you'd have to have a pretty good idea about whether or not it would rain the next day.

BTW, I like your Boba Fett hat pic. My son asked me to knit him one and man, it was quite a task. Wish he'd asked for one already made lol.
This is beautiful. Reminds me of the one I had made for my son when he was born.

Thank you all for your words of wisdom and happy thoughts!!!!

Do you have a Magic Key or are you using a regular ticket. If you are using a ticket, there is no penalty for not showing up for your flight. With an MK, it needs to be canceled by midnight the night before. It’s usually pretty easy to get reservations the night before. It’s not as inflexible of a system as it appears, but I can see how it feels that way for people who don’t live nearby.

You can cancel up until midnight the day before your reservation but, if you’re using a regular ticket and not a MK, there is no penalty for just not showing up to your reservation.

Ugh- so with you! Live in Seattle and headed to Southern CA Monday- Saturday (actually skipping Disney this time and doing Palm Springs, then LA). Kicking myself I didn’t go for a surer sun bet like Mexico.

I don’t think the weather gods understand how much we need the sun this time of year!

I hope the outlook does get sunnier. But at least I’m missing an even colder snap up here. But temps starting with a 5 are a bit of a let-down.

Me, in Mexico, where it is currently cold AF: 🥶 Not a guaranteed bet either.

This is definitely a cold year down here. We had a couple brief days of warm sun, but they came with Santa Ana winds, and lots of dust and pollen. Even when it's sunny, it's been cold.

Ok gang. I went and bought my wife a waterproof but breathable and light coat that's more heavy duty than her other rain resistant coats.

I already have a fishing coat and over pants, which I have second pair she can wear.

The kiddo's stroller already had a plastic rain cover.

Come hyuck or high water, we'll be ready.

NOT FAIR!!! Hang in there. I guess we just need to plan later trips.

I keep Anaheim on my weather app and it has seemed cold. It’s been much colder this year up here too. I guess we’ll all just need to put an extra layer on!

We leave in a week and I did notice the rain so I'm getting a bit worried. I have some hiking sandals but if it cold they may not be ideal to wear. I had bought a pair of boots but they are really uncomfortable. Not sure now what to do.

I don’t think I’d like to wear hiking sandals or uncomfortable boots in that situation.
Can you exchange the boots for a comfortable pair?

I have had them for too long sadly. I'll have to look into some more options. I know there are shoe covers but I don't know how well they work. One of the problems is I don't really want to take a full rain boot and have to deal with carrying them around all day for just in case

Where do they not fit? If it's a heel problem with blisters, I'd recommend something my old soccer coach taught me - duct tape across the heels. It'l help you break them in without blisters.

To be honest it has been sometime since I wore them but I think it was kind of an overall thing where they just felt bad everywhere.
