We are just looking to plan a trip late February early March to beat the crowds but looking at March 4 and onward all the hotels rooms are sold out. I did some looking online and can not really come up with anything. We are travelling with a young child under a year and our time frame is wide open just would prefer less crowded days.

There is a produce convention, Natural Products Expo West, going on during that time (March 4-7). It's a very large convention, and while it doesn't impact the parks too much, it does impact hotel availability and pricing.

I checked Marriott, the few that had rooms were sky high pricing. If you open up the search radius a bit you can find some, just use Uber/Lyft to get there perhaps.
TownePlace Suites Anaheim Maingate Near Angel Stadium $308
Sheraton Garden Grove - Anaheim South Hotel $379
And others much cheaper once you get out about 5 miles from Disneyland.
As the conference window gets closer you may find rooms that open up. We had the SpringHill Maingate, but a couple of days before we moved to the Sheraton at the Park for a lower rate.

Natural Products Expo, happens every year in the first week of March. If you do manage to find an affordable room, make sure it's not near the convention center, traffic in the area is TERRIBLE.

It’s cause of the convention. It’s like this every year that week in March.

Wow! I had no idea and was just starting to plan a short trip for this exact time frame. Back to the drawing board!

In April, I booked that first week of March at BWPPI after being warned here about the convention and the likely sell out of hotel rooms. Later in the summer, we decided to change our vacation dates to the last week of March/first week of April, so we are now bookended by spring break and Easter. I released my room at BWPPI and booked a new one — and saved over a thousand dollars. It’s bananas! (Har! Get it?)

Mini GayDay's is the first weekend of March.
I would expect that to add volume to park attendance.
Plus hotel bookings
