We are thinking of planning our trip for the first week of March. Can anyone tell me what I could expect for crowds and weather? We have visited before in April/early May, August and September. The September crowd level was AWESOME, but it was really hot. We are Oregonians, so 65° means shorts and flip flops for us! :) Thanks!

We went March 5th through 8th 2014 and found it quite busy while we were there. Most of the popular rides were 45 minutes or more.

If I had the option, I would have changed our dates. But I'm tied to the grandkids school calendar. Their school district has a mini-break and there was No School on those dates.

On the 2015 school calendar, the March break is the 4th, 5th and 6th.
We're going again during the March mini-break.
I have us booked on the first flight out of PDX Wednesday morning. We'll come home on the last flight out of LGB on Saturday.

If the weather is like 2014, it will be GREAT! We'll be in shorts and t-shirts. In the evening a light jacket or long sleeve shirt is all it takes to be comfortable.

In March 2013 (1st or 2nd weekend), we were freezing (and we're from Colorado). We all had to buy jackets and I bought a beanie, gloves, and a blanket for DS2. The forecast said in the 60's/70's, but it was so overcast and windy it felt like it was in the 40's. Upside? It was so cold to everyone that the parks were empty so we were able to ride everything we wanted multiple times!

So weather quality does affect locals in the parks.
March 2014 weather was very very nice and it was crowded.

If having bad weather meant no crowds, I could handle it.

March is just busy with cheer camps in early March and spring breaks in full swing from mid-March on.

We have a lot of March experience since our son's b'day is in the 3rd week. We always do a 3-day b-day trip which we have moved up earlier and earlier every year because the late March Spring Break crowds are so big. Early March is still good, busy and there will be crowds, but manageable and not packed like late March.

There's no guarantees anywhere with the weather, but we've always had good luck. This year we had a pool day at DLH and the weather was awesome.

I was there mid-March this year, Sat & Sun Mar 15-16. It was hot, mid-90s both days, and pretty busy. That said, the mornings were great, it really didn't feel crowded until noon.
