Early Magic Band users- how are your batteries doing?

Maybe they should quit sending multiple sets of bands to people who travel multiple times. :)

Ain't that the truth. I've done two split stays so they send you a different magic band for each stay and to add to that I changed my reservations on the last trip so they sent another band. I've actually got a split stay coming up in Sept. (after one I did in May) so 2 more bands.

Just used my original band from August 2013 this past May 2015. Still worked. Will test it again in November 2015. I "manage" 35 magic bands for my 5 family members....plus old cards LOL. And we have 4 more on order for our next trip... would be great if we could order character ones, even if we had to pay for them, instead of the generic ones.

I don't know which ones are which but we have some from back to December 2013. We just went in May and everything seemed to work fine except anytime I used a FP kiosk, it always took a long time for the screen to load after initially tapping my band. The cast members were always concerned that the kiosk had broken haha.

I have 19 current bands and manage 98 others for the rest of my immediate family. That doesn't include the approx 100 that have been marked trashed by Disney.

Our account has lots of issues due to the bands so we have had to deactivate all but a couple per person. The kids bands wouldn't open anymore hotel rooms until we deactivated most of them.

This is a really good question. My oldest magicband is about a year and a half. Hmmm..

Also: I'm compliling a giant collection of magic bands from all these trips, too No idea what to do with them lol ;)

On our very first stay with the MBs back in 2013, the CM at WL told us that the system could only handle 8 MBs per person. At the time, we both laughed at the "crazy" idea of someone having 8 bands. I guess at the time, they didn't realize that they'd be issuing new bands for every single stay, or portion of stay with a split stay.

With our next order of MBs, my husband and I will have 8 bands and the kids 7. I went in and deactivated all the old cards associated with our accounts just in case, after I read reports of glitches on here when the band/card count got too high. Prior to our next trip, I intend to go through and deactivate all the bands we're not taking along, again, just in case.

Wow--I should probably go in and deactivate some too--didn't realize too many might be an issue. TIA!

No idea as we don't save them. They get tossed after our trips. The only ones I save are the AP ones just in case we do a day trip (which we like never do).

I really think they will start offering a "Premium" magic band option in the future. Let's be honest, if there is money to be made...Disney will find a way. I have about 20 magic bands myself and I just leave them all active. Perhaps one day I will "clean up" my account but I really don't see a reason to since they don't limit the number you can have attached to your account. Now if they could only let me add my Disney Visa to my band since I am an AP. Would also be nice to have those discounts automatically pop up for the cast member without an additional card.

If you have an issue you can deactivate from the MDE app. I think that would help anyone with issues almost immediately right?

i dunno about batteries dying and mb not working, but it may be better to have the long range function work on doors or things because when i have a handful of kids and stuff, lining up the head perfectly makes me want to rip the thing off the door :)
