Would it be a bad idea to go visit WDW in early June, as in, June 1-6?

I know crowd level's are insane in June and July, but do you think kids would get out of school that early?

Do you think it would be busy then?

not this past June, but the one before (2006). It was crowded....and HOT, HOT, HOT!!! We could have handled the crowds alot better if it was a little cooler. And we live in Oklahoma, and it gets hot and humid here, so we are used to it. I guess it was ok, but we decided to never do that again.... and a mid-summer trip is out of the question for us!!!

One the weekends, it is usually Star Wars weekends. I also think Gay Days happens at that time. Both will make the parks hugely popular on the weekends.

Usually the first week in June is the big Gay days rally. It is fairly family oriented and doesn't bother us 1 bit but some families are put off by this. One year my great aunt and grandpa went during Gay days and boy did I get an ear full from those too old people :lmao: :lmao:

We went in 2004 the first week in June. It was crowded but not to the point where we couldn't move. Make sure to have a plan and you should be okay.
Remember it is HOT so make adjustments for the heat of the afternoon.

Our last nine trips to WDW have been during the last week of May through the entire first week of June. Over the years, we have found that the crowds have gotten bigger but definitely not unmanageable.

The first weekend in June is Gay Days. The crowd levels are definitely effected by the extra guests. But, you can work your way around the extra crowds. The gay/lesbian travelers participating in Gay Days have a specific schedule they follow. You can probably find that over on the Gay/Lesbian forum. Usually, they are in the Magic Kindgom on Saturday so we make sure we avoid that park on that particular day. The Saturday crowds at Magic Kingdom are usually busy anyway and with the extra guests, it makes it even more crowded.

I don't know if the Star Wars Weekends have been scheduled yet but they do usually occur in June. To avoid those crowds, just avoid MGM Studios if possible.

With some advanced planning and the use of Fastpass, you will be able to see and do lots during the time period you are talking about.

We always arrive at park opening and stay until park closing. Although we don't leave the parks for a rest, we do make sure we do work in at least a couple of break times. Each of the theme parks have some quiet spots and we make full use of them. We also linger a while over our counter service lunches and make our table service ADRs for dinner. Table service dinners usually take about an hour to an hour and a half. By the end of our meal, we are rejuveniated and ready to head out again.

The temperatures do vary but, most of our visits, it was in the high 80's, low to mid 90's. We are from Louisiana and the high temps and high humidity didn't bother us that much since we are used to it. You can purchase the misting fans in al of the theme parks but we bring along our own since they are a bit pricey in the parks. I found small misting fans at our local Wal-Mart for $2.50. They are about the size of a small digital camera and have a clip on them. Because they are small, they don't get heavy and you can clip them to your belt loop.

Our next trip is scheduled for May 29th through June 7th, 2008 and we are already counting down the days!

We went last year for our Honeymoon from June 10th - 16th.... it was crazy HOT!!! But I was surprised at the low crowd levels for this time of year....

Everything said on this post is dead on. We went last May/June just before Gay Days weekend. Of course it's hot, you just plan for that. Do use a touring plan of some sort, if only for the big rides. See TourGuideMike for an idea of which parks to visit on which days - he's very accurate in his assesment of crowd levels.

We thoroughly enjoyed it even with the rather larger crowds (we usually go the week after Thanksgiving). With one kid in middle school now, we don't go during the school year anymore. We even had another family of four with us last trip and they let me lead them through our little touring plan and they were impressed at how much we were able to do.
