Considering that the 4th of July is at the beginning of July, clearly the lines are LONG and the crowds are HEAVY.

American kids are out of school by mid-June. But worse than that, early July includes 4th of July weekend and the weeks around it.

From our experience, July is extremely extremely extremely extremely busy. Including the beginning of July. Extremely busy. Very very busy.

However, having said the above, July is when we go every year as that's how it works out for us. WDW in July is better than no WDW at all.

Also be advised that July is hotter than Hades and with the most extraordinary humidity you will ever encounter.

But again, that's when we go. However, it wouldn't be my first choice if we had alternatives.

Like Beth says Florida is never a bad place to be ,however, to be blunt it's not the month anyone would choose ideally, it's the hottest time of the year and very busy crowd wise too.

We go in August because of the school holidays and we find it very hot also, but from the middle of the month it's much quieter as a lot of the US schools have returned.

Sorry not being negative, getting to the parks early and basically just trying to do them at cooler and quieter times of the day is advisable, the parks are open longer so that is a bonus.

Don't get me wrong though, ANY time to go to Florida is a good time (that sounds a bit corny) and all of us would go in July if we couldn't go any other month...Many people go in July and have brilliant holidays, it's just a difficult time to go in my opinion.

As Johnny points out, it's doable. You have to plan and be much more commando about your visit if you're there in July. You have to get up early, get to the park before opening, use Fastpasses, etc.

When we visit in July we do the above, plus we never ever stay in the parks past early afternoon (about noon or 1 PM at the latest). It's just too hot. We go back to the hotel to relax, hang around in the pool a bit, take in a bit of tv and then are refreshed and ready to head out again around dinner time.

we also go in July as it is the only time we can go now. we used to go in October but as our son in now at Uni and our other son is still at school that is no longer an option. However , altough it is cooler in October we found the prices for us flying from Scotland had rose year after year for October and I don't think financially we are worse of going in July, As everybody above said it is hot and humid but we have been now in July about three times and I can honestly say we have never came away thinking oh we would never go in July again. If you stay away from the parks on the 4th then they will be okay, we aren't going on the 4th but the time we were there we had a day at the pool.

queues last year we at their worst with a 60 min queue and Universal was not at all bad to be honest.

Totally agree with all the points made so far. We always have to go July and August and although I would love for us all to be able to do as we please you do have to plan and stick to it. Early starts with plenty of breaks and you should be fine. However, if the option is there to go at any time I think I would take it. :sunny:

Have been three times in July now, including this last summer. This year, the weather was extremely hot and the crowds around the middle of the day were heavy. You really need to plan your time and use Fastpass always - if you do, you'll be OK. Avoid the parks around midday - go back to your hotel and go back later on - late afternoon. This July we were lucky to have very little rain, but usually an afternoon thunderstorm is the norm. Also the South American tourgroups come out in July - but these large groups usually move slowly and can be avoided - just don't hit Splash Mountain at the same time as they do.

The big advantage of going at this time are the park hours - parks open much later. Also there is usually two parades at MK, two Fantamic showings. Believe me, the second showing of Spectromagic on a Tuesday evening last July was absolutely DEAD - had most of Liberty Square to ourselves. On a Wednesday in MGM, the Fantasmic arena was a third full on the second showing - never seen it so quiet before, even in the off season (in October people were fighting for a seat).

Would I go again in July - you bet.

Mostly groups of 15 year olds from Brazil (so they don't understand the Spanish instructions at the beginning of attractions - like don't use flash)...

in Brazil, when kids turn 15, their parents (those who can afford it) send them by themselves on organized tours to WDW.....(just the kids, the parents don't go along)....

there are also lots of groups of adults and families (mostly from Brazil and Argentina), but the masses of these groups are the 15 year olds from Brazil....

the CMs at WDW affectionately refer to July as "taco month".....

Having managed to avoid summer trips to WDW for many years, last year we visited in July :sunny:

Was it HOT? ::yes::

Was it humid? ::yes::

Was it crowded? ::yes:: but we've encountered worse crowds at Easter, New Year and even October some times.

Would we visit WDW again in July? ::yes:: probably

Would we prefer to go at a different time if we had the option? ::yes:: definitely!

Did we have a great trip? ::yes:: :thumbsup2 ;)

If going in july go to the parks for gate opening then come out around 13:30 when the heat is at its worst and park starts to get even busier. After a dip in the pool and a cheaper meal outside the park head back in for the evening parades and fireworks, a whole day in the park at this time of year is heavy going. been twice in July and is ok. enjoy

We went last July, last 2 weeks, and had a fantastic time. We hit the parks early, getting there before they opened, did the attractions we wanted to do, then blasted out. Crowds were noticeably bigger by dinnertime but by then we had done everything we wanted to do. Lines were not existent first thing, the longest line I saw was over 2 hours for Soarin' late afternoon but again when we went first thing we were straight on and got a fast pass for an hour later. Water rides got extremely busy later on too, roughly about 60 minute wait but again first thing you could just stay on and ride again.

I enjoyed my first visit in July, I loved the heat and are going back exactly the same weeks this year again. However, once we are not tied to kids' school/college holidays we will go at different times of the year. We have enjoyed going in February.

We did July last year, very hot, very humid, very crowded, but still brilliant!

I would do it again, but not if I could choose another time to be honest.
