Early July DVC/DIS Meet??

We plan on being at OKW in early July--arriving Wed 7/2 and leaving Sun 7/6.

Just wondering if any DVC'ers here on the DIS would like to arrange a get together?

Obviously, Friday, July 4 is out of the question, isn't it?

I'm going to suggest Papa's Den at OKW, but I'm open to other sugggestions.

Let me know if you're going to be there and where you would like to meet.

Hello! I will be there 6/21 to 7/5 and I wouldn't mine going to a meet. I went to a DIS meet on DCL and it was great! There actually was another thread that talked about a 4th of July meet but it hasn't popped back up in awhile.

I may have made that post you are referring to, but, since it was buried inside another thread, I decided to start this one.

I'll keep this thread open for a few more days, but if no one else wants to meet, we can still get together during the time our stays overlap.

I attended a DIS/DVC meet last year around Thanksgiving. It was fun, finally being able to associate faces with the names we often see on the DIS Boards. All we did was sit around and talk for an hour or so. Discussed our families, our love for DVC, etc.

Anyone else interested?

Yes we will be there. We have an ADR at the turf club somewhere around 5:30. I was thinking of checking out OKW too, I heard they have the best 4th of July activities. Have you been there on the 4th before?

I can't remember what all it said. It was on a 4th of July thread on the planning board. I am really bummed I am not going on the cruise too, I am afraid it will be too cold in Feb but that was one of our only options that worked for us time wise.

I MAY have been the one posting about the OKW festivities on July 4.

In prior years, there has been a Pargo Parade led by Goofy. (Pargos are the golf cart-like vehicles used by mousekeeping, maintenance, etc.) There are snow cones/popcorn (I think) in Community Hall where you can also meet Goofy.

They have a DJ who leads dancing, limbo contests, hula hoop contests, etc. She also passes our red, white and blue goodies--lanyards, temp tattoos, airplanes and I forget what else.

All-in-all, we've enjoyed it the past two years, and plan on enjoying it again this year, too!.

We would love to do a meet, but unfortunately we arrive at OKW the day after you leave. We will be there July 7-12. We will be at Vero Beach on the 4th to the morning of the 7th.

Hey can we join ya's? I just booked a trip this past Tuesday for July3rd-7th. We'll be @ OKW. DH & I were wondering if any of the DVC's did anything special for the 4th. It will just be the hubby and I since we just had the whole family down there 3 weeks ago.
