Early Jan?

Hello, I hope you guys can help. We are planning a trip for Jan 2-5 to WDW. Does anyone know if the crowds will be huge this time of year or are they slow right after new years day? Thanks

They are usually quite low this time of year. My bday is in mid January, and it's a great time for me to celebrate. The only trouble may be the weather, it may be nice and pleasant, or it could be bitter cold. The best bet is to bring clothes that layer well.

My husband and I went last Jan 12-19 and this jan we are going Jan 2-11 ... I love this time of year !! It was VERY cold last year.... we did not swim at all.. BUT no lines at all I do not think we waited more than 5 minutes for any ride.... I know last year was unseasonably cold so we are hoping for a couple of swimmable days this year!
Last year they were selling Mickey gloves, throws and hot choc at Fantasmic !!
bring jeans, sweatshirt and long sleeve Ts and you will be fine !

We went the first week after NYE in 2002, and it was great! No lines or anything. However, it was very cold - we were in mittens one day! We were there for NYE 98/99 and were fine in light jackets, but it appears that Florida is getting colder that time period. I wouldn't plan on much swimming (even with the heated pool...brrr, was it cold getting to and from the pool!) and I would definitely pack a variety of cool weather clothes!

I have gone the very first week in January in 2002, 2001, and 2000. In 2002, I arrived on New Years Day. Each year, the crowds seem to thin out right after New Years. And I remember how cold it was in 2002-there was an Enite on 1/3 that was freezing! I'm a big Splash Mountain fan, and it was too cold for even me to go on Splash Mountain even though there was no wait. Did HM 4 times that night just to get in out of the cold.
