Snoops is right, this is a good bye thread, or was until people started up with the personal attacks on someone who is not here to defend themselves, right or wrong. Not cool.

Charlie did no wrong in starting this. It was not started to discuss his banning, others brought that into the fold. And Charlie, you can keep your card for another time

I'm glad many of you who will miss EROS' controversial, yet sometimes thought-provoking, posts had the opportunity to express it. I'm not sure he will be back to see them but am sure he would appreciate it.

That being said, keep it on topic and lay off the personal attacks.

She clearly has stated "we won't allow threads asking about the banned poster", she also stated "Threads liek that tend to lead to conjecture and innuendo." Cathy goes on to say "We would not want to publicly embrarass anyone, banned or not."

While most people have good intentions on this thread, it is still leading to innuendo and is having an adverse affect on the CB.
EROS is gone and it is unfortunate. However, I believe the mods and webmasters need to be fair in this situation. If you will not allow the other posts to be present, or allow members of the DIS to use EROS sig pic, then I think this thread should be locked as well.

Leaving it open does contradicte what I have been told and seen regarding the other threads regarding EROS.

I took that to mean that posts asking about EROS' whereabouts, as in, "does anyone have Eros' email address?", or "why was Eros banned?" to be a no-no.

CC can clarify further, but this is the way I understood it.

Get real people, please. And repeat after me: "its only a Disney fan site, only a Disney fan site". I realize there are people here who cared for Eros, and those who didn't much care for him, but in reality, its just a blip on the radar screen of life, isn't it?

I also think that most people are preferring to keep their negative views to themselves, which I totally understand.

I'm not sure why you care, jules, let alone ask the question, or was it rhetorical? On this board, people can start a thread on anything they wish (within reason), they don't have to ask permission of other posters and shouldn't have to face snide remarks either.

I see this thread as a way for people to get Eros out of their system - it appears that people need to do that. So I say have at it.

This thread is NOT to discuss his banning, so it is not a contradiction. I bent the rules just to explain to people the policy as a courtesy to those who didn't understand. This is a good-bye thread, not why he is gone. Let people say goodbye and we can all move on!

Thank you Snoopy, well said! YOu know, no one forced anyone to read or respond to EROS' posts. Those of you who did not like him could have ignored him, YOU chose not to. Gee, maybe cuz you were free to read it if you wanted to, and free to respond if you wanted to. Funny how that works...huh? IN the long run, if you got upset about it, you made the choice to do so all along.

I for one will miss the man. I hardly ever agreed with him, but that did not mean he did not have a right to his opinion. If you didn't like it then ignore it and keep going.

May I suggest that if this thread offends you, bothers you, or upsets you, to close it and not come back to it. IMHO, that would be a very smart thing to do, and let those who want to say goodbye say it in peace.

Really, Eros did invoke so many feelings in people - both good and bad. If nothing else, he did that, no? Some may view that as a good thing, some not, but any way you look at it, the name Eros never equated with the word boring.
