Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but can someone clear up what sort of early entry benefits on-site guests receive? I'll be there July 15-18 at HRH, and haven't stayed on site in over a year. Can you still get in an hour early? Is early entry just for guests who purchased the Harry Potter package? Is early entry available at both parks? TIA!

Off the web :)

Exclusive Benefits in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™
Stay steps away from the magic and excitement! Staying on-site is the best way to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ and all that Universal Orlando Resort has to offer! Make the most out of your vacation and enjoy exclusive benefits in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter:

•Early Park Admission† to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, one hour before the park opens
•Skip the regular lines* at participating attractions throughout both Universal Orlando theme parks – A FREE BENEFIT WORTH UP TO $70 per person, per day^

I also received an email with the information and it states starting June 19th.

I agree that the website clearly says:
†Requires paid theme park admission. Early Park Admission begins one hour prior to Universal’s Islands of Adventure® regular opening hour for On-site Hotel guests. Current offer valid 7 days a week for travel 6/19/10 – 12/31/10, valid only at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™, Flight of the Hippogriff™ and Dragon Challenge™. If technical problems arise or the opening of an attraction is delayed another Islands of Adventure attraction will open for Early Park Admission. Universal Express6 ride access is not valid during Early Park Admission.

When I booked a room last night, however, it did not have this language in my confirmation email. Maybe that shouldn't worry me, but I don't see why some emails would have it and others not.

I just got off the phone with universal. I have a reservation RPR for the 30th for one night and my hope was to get there early, purchase tickets and then utilize the early admission to see WWOHP without waiting in line for hours. It is the only reason we are taking a day away from our DW trip. I was told that I would be allowed to check in early (of course a room is not guaranteed until after 4 which I expected) but I would not be able to take advantage of early entry until the 31st because I would technically not be checked in. Should I believe what I was told and resign myself and prepare for a long wait to get in? The only reason we are staying on site was for the early entry. I am a little skeptical because I went through a horrendous mess with Universal regarding my original reservation, GO dates and entry into the park that took hours to sort out and numerous staff members telling me different things to do. Do I really need to purchase two day tickets to get this benefit when I originally budgeted for one? I have never visited Universal before and the planning of this trip for one day has been a bigger stress than any trip I've planned before.

You will be able to get in for early entry on the day you check in. The date will be right on your room card that they will be looking at before letting you in.

Thought you would get early entry the day you check in and the day you check out. For example, I check in at 7am on Wednesday for one night and use early entry that day. Then I use early entry on Thursday before check-out. Is this the way it works. Can anyone give us a straight, from experience answer to this one?

We arrived last week at 7 am to check in. We then took advantage of early opening with our room keys. Our rooms happened to be ready but if they aren't, they still give you room keys to get your early access and your express access all day. The same applies to the day you check out.

Inkognitto did it a few weeks ago. It's possible that the phone rep just wants to discourage hundreds of people from checking in at 7AM, but you CAN do it.

From Universal

"..... you’re entitled early theme park admission for your length of stay. You’ll be allowed early theme park admission the day of your arrival and the day of check-out......."

We were there June 18-20th. They are changing the hours of early access daily. On June 19th it was 6am-9am. We got to the line at 8 am and had to wait 2 hours to ride. On June 20th early access was 8am-9am. I don't know how/when they decide on the times. We stayed at HRH and each night they slid a paper under the door with the time for the next morning. After 9 am, there was a 6 hour wait just to get into the Wizarding World section of the park. And once you left the area, you weren't allowed back in (My husband and small girls went to ride at Seuss Landing and couldn't rejoin our group)

I think they did the early early access on the 19th to try and get the onsiters done before the GP needed to come through. It had been 8-9 every day (except media days right before the GO). For our three days there, it was 8-9 before they softed for GP.
