Early Entry Question?

Can you explain this like im a 5 year old ? My hotel reservation isnt enough? I’d have to check in with my phone?
You would need to show proof of your hotel reservation with your phone. Either by using the "unlock my door" option through the app, or in the case you can't get it to work, the CM there also accepted visual confirmation of our check-in/check-out date of our reservation, but it needed to be shown on the app.

Everything should be in your online account.... hotel, park tickets, park reservations. Scanning you MB, or Ticket or Phone should pull up all the needed info and give them a "green light" that you qualify.

I keep seeing people speculate as to whether staffing issues could be a reason for the change - that may have been the reason for the reduction from 1 hour EE to 30 mins, but I just struggle to see why staffing could be an issue for a 30-minute EE. When we did EE this past fall, there were clearly a lot of staff in both parks prior to regular rope drop - opening a few rides 30 minutes early doesn't seem like it would be a major strain or burden on staff (but maybe I'm wrong, in which case, I apologize!). The staff manning those rides would need to be there after rope drop anyway...IDK, this just seems like another cost-cutting measure and I agree, it does seem to reduce the value of staying on-site.

Since we do try to stay on-site, but we also choose not to park hop, this will become another element I'll have to factor in when planning our future vacations. Planning a trip to Disneyland has become almost more complicated than planning a trip to Europe!

Are you eligible for early entry on your check-out day like at Walt Disney World? I haven’t found any language on this. The official Disney language says you must be “checked in”, but technically check-out time is 11am, so we’d still be checked in when early entry starts.

Yes, you do. On our last day of our visit, we were able to early-entry DCA. Hitting GRR until you're soaked, and then taking a quick shower/change before checking-out makes for a very relaxed ride home.
