I have read different things about EE. I have read that the park open one hour earlier. I have also read that the park opens 90 minutes earlier. The the last thing I read was that the park opens 90 minutes early, but the rides start 60 minutes earlier than usual. HELP PLEASE! Which is it? THANKS A MILLION! S

when we were there in december it was 1 hour prior. but that is always subject to change!:p

What you have actually read is information about two completely different things.

When WDW had their Surprise Mornings (originally known as Early Entry), the parks would open up to 90 minutes prior to the scheduled opening time for onsite resort guests. Only three parks were in the rotation as AK did not participate in this. Surprise Mornings were discontinued in October, 2001.

The current incarnation of this, Extra Magic Hour, was begun in October, 2002. All four parks participate in this. One park per day is opened one hour early for onsite resort guests. They no longer allow anyone in prior to the one hour time.

So do your planning for one hour before opening, not 90 minutes.

So do they let you in the gate a little earlier where you can wait at the rope for it to drop at 8; or do they not even let you in the gate until 8 where you still have to walk down mainstreet and thru the castle before you get to Fantasyland?

On our recent trip, EE mornings we were held at the turnstyles until exactly on the hour. One non-ee morning however, we were allowed up to the castle and waited for a rope drop. Not sure if this is typical or not.

snowmouse: that is exactly typical. the early entry park will open 1 hour prior to posted opening time. resort guests are held at the turnstyles until that time. Years ago, early entry used to be 90 minutes prior to posted opening time, but that, like many other things was cut down to 60 minutes when disney brought it back(which I am very glad they did).
