Early entry madness today

This is crazy! At DL for early entry and Peter goes down after we waited in line for 20 minutes, AND Mr Toad is down. Add that to all the other rides down, and the few open ones are packed. Not to mention the frustration if entering the park. Why take a picture to go with the ticket yet continue to make me produce a photo ID every time. Grossly inefficient having 2 people at each entrance turnstile.

Ok, rant over...

Oh no! Sorry you're having a tough time! Sounds like Morning Madness rather than Early Entry!

Agree. It is terrible. So many rides either broken or already closed for refurbishment. This is very disappointing. I've been a regular visitor for over 12 years (spent many as a local). I have never had such a disappointing park experience.

They need to limit the EMH to resort guests only IMO.

I thought the only people allowed in for EMH were Disney guests or guest that have purchased the three or more multi-day packages?

If you purchase your tickets online through one of the ticketing companies it includes a EMH day.

Actually almost ALL 3 day or longer include a EMH day regardless if where you purchase them. Even our discount tix for the DL half in August have an Early Morning.

First time using pass had to show photo ID and sign the pass and the cast member with the handheld device takes you picture to link to the pass. Every time after that when entering a park the first person, who has a handheld device, asks to see your pass and your photo ID. Then the person actually sitting at the turnstile scans the ticket again.

I've NEVER showed photo ID other than at check-in at the hotel. That is really weird.

All I can tell you is how it has been Sunday, Monday and today.

What I find strange is they do not ask to see a resort key for early entry.

I was so disheartened by the sea of people and inability to move without being run over by a stroller that I left Fantasyland and sought solace in a chocolate croissant. ;)

Fantasyland has been a total gong show the past few days. We did like three rides during our entire trip :(

I got asked to do that a few times last early December. I also wondered why they couldn't go off the picture they took in the first place.

I find I am enjoying DCA much more this trip. Even though the monsters Inc. ride broke down this evening and we had to be escorted out. I am enjoying the drawing classes.

I will give Disneyland another try tomorrow since it is early entry for DCA.

What ever they use at the turnstile when they scan your ticket does not pull up the photo. Only the handheld device pulls up the photo.

We were there this morning (Tuesday) and I was absolutely amazed at the crowd level. So far we have gone Saturday and Tuesday this week, and the crowds have been ridiculous both days. In addition to the many rides already down for refurb, we have personally been on, or in 4 rides in a single day that have broken down. I have been coming to Disney for about 35 years. I absolutely love it and until this trip would have chosen to go to a Disney place over anything else for a vacation. After this trip I seriously am wondering if we will even go into the parks when we return for the half marathon in August. I am just frustrated with how many rides are permanently down at one time, plus how many go down during the day, plus the level of crowds on what use to be a low season. I understand "It's still Disneyland and there is so much to do". But when you stand in a line for 40 min (because all major rides are that wait time or worse), and it breaks down so you have to leave, and then try to use a FP, but can't because that ride is down, and then you walk back across the park to do something else and it is either down or the wait is 45min +, it's hard to still keep the magic. When the CM's are commenting how crazy busy it is, and they have no idea why, you know things are not going well.

We are here now too. We got here on Sunday and will leave on Friday. It is super crazy busy right now and I don't know why. It must be a combination of all the refurbs, the rides breaking down (at one point this evening both splash and btm where down for over an hour between 6 & 7 and I don't know if they ever reopened) and just way more people just trying to avoid busy times so the slow times are no longer slow.

I wish I didn't love Disneyland so much because it's just not as fun when you have to wait more than 1 cycle for the carrousel or wait 20 minutes for Pinocchio. The walkways are so crowded It always feel someone is going to cut me off. I hope this isn't the new norm because I might gave to reconsider my vacation destinations which would make me so sad!!
