Not sure how to word this one.....DS and DD are used to eating breakfast very soon after waking up. I'm not sure if it's worth doing character breakfasts because I don't know if they'll wait to eat.

What do others with children who don't like to wait to eat do?

what about doing a late bfast?
That way you can still eat quick bfast meal in your resort (granola, cereal, fruit of some sort) and then go to a late bfst at around 11ish or so.
By the time you're seated and start eating it'll be around 11:15-11:30 and it's closer to lunch than bfast anyways.

We take Pop Tarts or those small cereal on the go packs, so if our son is hungry as soon as he wakes up, he can have something to hold him over until our breakfast adr.

My youngest likes to eat his Cherrios as soon as he wakes up, and i was worried last summer when we had meals scheulded for breakfast. We found that being in the hotel, it was all so different for him, he didnt even ask to eat when he woke up. So we where okay with eating at CHef Mickeys after we bussed there from AKL. I know every child is different, but we got lucky.

When my boys new they were going they were fine with it. Also I got adr's for 7:30 the latest 8 cause I know they wanted to eat and I wanted to get my day started early.

Oh good! I really though I was the only one! :rotfl2: My DD practically spoons her cereal into her mouth before her eyes are open!

Yet we have managed to do very early character breakfasts. All I do is get her a whole fruit/fruit cup the night before so she can eat that. Fruit doesn't sit in your stomach that long so it doesn't ruin the appetite.:) I just tell her the night before that she needs to get dressed before she gets to eat - and wake her as late as possible without risking missing the bus. That way she is occupied long enough with getting ready "for the characters" not to be too conscious of the fact that she should be eating already.

what we do is we have a bunch of things i bought ahead of time such as granola bars, cereal, pop tarts etc...(i know not the healthiest but we are on vacation and looking for convenience) which the kids can either eat in the room real fast or take with them on the way to the parks. In my opinion it is wasted park time and the much needed break especially from the heat is better appreciated around 11:00. We use our counter service around 11:30 and do our table services for dinner. I do however have a late breakfast reserved at 10:50 which will be perfect because we have early morning hours at the park and by that time we will be more than ready to eat & take a break from the heat. Plus i find eating a heavy breakfast in the heat just doesnt agree with me and makes me very sluggish.
So all in all i would recommend either the latest breakfast you can get which is around 10:45 or do a character dinner.

We scheduled a late seating for breakfast. We got up early, ate cereal in our room, toured the parks and by our ADR we were hungry.

Once we had an early ADR time for breakfast and found that none of us were that hungry that early. We're not big breakfast eaters...now brunch is a different story. :)

We also usually eat breakfast in our room right after getting up, but if we do character breakfast we get the earliest ADR possible or don't do it at all - the best for this has been Crystal Palace because you get into the MK early when it is fairly empty which is neat - we have been able to get there pretty quickly via Disney transportation, get right in and eat, and are back out by rope drop.
