:wave2: I was thinking of booking a OCTOBER 2005 cruise on the MAGIC....I know this is really far in advance and I was wondering if I could not get one of the Secret porthole rooms and booked a Cat 12 would I have a good chance of an upgrade?

:hyper: :hyper:

I know going through Disney that they may not assign a cabin that far in advance and Cat 12 always seems to fill fast???

Just a thought??? Has this happened to anyone else in the past?

I would like a window, but don't have to have one?

Thanks for any help?

If you will be happy in a Category 12 then book it and if an upgrade happens - fantastic. Booking what you will be happy with is the key.

Upgrades do seem to happen a little more in the fall so booking early for next fall may help. Just don't count on it and you won't be disappointed.

What is the difference in a Cat 11 vs Cat 12? I booked two Cat 10 rooms that adjoin and got the actual cabin numbers. Does the fact I've gotten the cabin number mean there is no chance for getting upgraded? Would I have had a better chance at upgrade if picked Cat 11? Are you less likely to get upgraded if picked an adjoining room? We are saling in Sept. Thanks.

I do think that they will give you a room number, but if you book early you could get bumped up to make room in the lower cat.;)

That is what I would hope for if I booked a 11 or 12. I just called and a secret porthole room is availabe on the cruise I want in October 2005. I have it on a 7 day hold.

So I would hope I could keep that number.... Can't beat paying an inside price for a window!:bounce:

We had 5020 on the Wonder and this is room 5520 on the other side of the ship.:hyper:

I was just guessing on how the upgrades work, but I would think if you book early you have a better chance.

My first cruise I booked Cat 11 Gty about 2 months before the cruise and I never got upgraded. It was fine and I slept so good in the inside cabin.....So I can not complain....:p

I am excited to get the SPR for the Magic...A window will be nice for the 7 day.....:hyper:

26555,

Hey I bet you got secret port hole rooms too!!!!!!! There are two sets of Cat 10 Adjoining rooms on deck 5 and they are listed as inside, but have windows!!!

That would be so great!!!! You will be very happy with that!

What numbers did you get???

I know that 5022 and 5024 and so are rooms 5522 & 5524....:hyper: You will be love them.... I hope that is what you got!!::yes:: :wave2:

The TA said those "secret" portholes fill up very fast, I asked about it but got connecting rooms on Deck 2.

My first cruise was for our honeymoon back in 1999. I went to book the cruise with DCL and the computers were down so I was given a code number to call back the next day. I called back the next day to book my 4land/3sea cruise went thru the whole process selecting dixie landing and went to select the cat 11 cabin, but there was no cat 11 staterooms left. So I was put on hold and a few minutes later I was told that for $100 each I would be moved up to the cat 7 stateroom. Then I was told the good news, since I was in a Cat 7 Stateroom I was also able to stay at a deluxe resort (we chose the Boardwalk Inn). That was the best $200 I ever spent.

Well Our 5th anv. is here so we going back to Disney. To suprise my wife I thought I would booked a 3day disney cruise leaving 4/22. In Feb I booked a cat 11 stateroom and received my info today and my stateroom is a cat 8.

I am thinking that may be the trick. Book early Cat 11 and your odds of an upgrade will be pretty darn good.....

Something to consider.;)

Have fun on your trip!:teeth:
