Early drop off fees

Curious if Alamo charges if I drop off a day early ? drop off is at TPA airport. fwiw.

It can change your rate if you are no longer adhering to the requirements under which you booked. For example, if your rate requires a Saturday night keep, you picked it up on Sunday, and you want to return on the following Saturday rather than the following Sunday, your rate very well could go up.

Two different possible charges.

Brian mentioned an agency "correcting" your rate if you don't qualify for the rate calculated on your reservation. Most common would be not qualifying for a weekly rate or a weekend rate. This is not an early drop off fee.

An early drop fee is charged when an agency doesn't want a car back early (or is looking to nickle and dime). A possible example--you're returning the car to a hotel location. The agency doesn't have a customer for your car and doesn't have an available parking spot. The car has to be driven to a different location.

Yes, your rate will probably change. If you know for sure that you will have to change your rental dates, you might as well do it now.

It was either Dollar or Alamo about 4 years ago, we had a flood warning at home and bolted a day early, the rate went down.
