Early dinner/ late lunch options around resort monorail?

We're going to be in WDW this September, initially staying at the Poly. On our first full day (a Friday), I'm tentatively planning to be up early to head to MK, then come back to the resort by noon to relax and rest from the heat. Then I'd like to get into costumes to head back to MK for the Halloween party, getting in before things kick off, maybe 5-6?

At some point between leaving MK from our morning session and then returning to enjoy the party, I'd like to have a substantial meal. We'll enjoy treats at the party, but I can't load us all up on ice cream and cupcakes for dinner on the first full day- we'll feel like garbage. So I need a decent meal ahead of the trick or treating fun.

The trouble I'm having in looking at potential restaurants is that many of them are closed between 2-5. Ideally I'd love to eat around 3:30-4 so we can get back to MK with plenty of time to enjoy ourselves.

We are adventurous eaters and prefer table service meals. I won't go to Disney Springs. Although we have park hoppers, I don't want to be going all over the place to get a meal- we've got plenty of days to explore eating options and this first night is about efficiency getting back to MK.

What say Dis folks? Where would you recommend in the resort monorail vicinity for a decent 4 PM dinner?

Geyser Point over at Wilderness Lodge? I can’t think of anywhere else other than QS places and restaurants within the MK itself that’s in that area and open at the right time.

I second Geyser Point!

Not table service, but we've always enjoyed the food at Capt Cook's at the Poly, as well. The Thai coconut meatballs with rice, pan-asian noodles w/ veggies, and pulled pork nachos are all very tasty (and a little different than your standard QS fare). You could also grab some sushi from Kona Island, as well, and enjoy it on the beach overlooking the MK.

According to website, ‘Ohana opens at 3:30 if you can get it.
Otherwise, for efficiency, LTT, Crystal Palace or Jungle Skipper as first thing back in park if you want sit down. Or Cspt Cooks for quick serve.

I would go to Kona Cafe and get a good meal and then head back to the park. If no reservation I would go to Captain Cooks. It’s hard to be the convenience of either since your already staying at the Poly and the food at Kona is great.

We had an awesome late lunch at Steakhouse 71 (Contemporary) in April. This is going to be a must do on our July trip too.

I suggest heading for the MNSSHP well before 5-6:00. It'll be very crowded near the gate by then with people entering and CMs starting to escort out those without party tickets.

We've always entered for either holiday party between 4-4:30 to get past the Hub and hang out in the outskirts of Fantasyland until closer to start time.
