Early December Weekend Large Groups or Holiday Busy?

My husband and I are headed to WDW in December. We are staying at ASmovie. We decided to fly out a night early so I tried to add a night to our reservation (standard room annual pass rate). That was not available. I realized it might not be but there isn’t even a standard room available. Not on any of the specials or at full rate. I did book a preferred room. I am fine with Value resorts IF there are no large groups there. Does anyone have an idea if they are full because of the holiday or is there a large group? December 8-10. None of the all stars have anything available.

2.5months out is somewhat last minute for a Disney trip, so not surprising the cheaper resorts are completely sold out. Looks like cheapest available is Coronado Springs (can't tell if you looking for Dec7 or Dec8, but either way, it's the cheapest on those dates).

I am really just wondering if anyone knows of any large groups that might be at all star movie?

I think that's the end of Pop Warner... they definitely use the All Stars resorts.

It's also the beginning of Hannukah, though I don't know if that's a big impact on the All Stars.

I thought the same thing and just checked out the Pop Warner Super Bowl website and no Disney resorts are listed as options with the package. All options are off site hotels.

Wow, I only looked up the dates not the resorts. Is that a change? I thought they always used the All Stars.

POP Warner is no longer at WDW, not since reopening. I believe the "story" was Disney couldn't host them because they were hosting bubble major league sports. My opinion is that Disney finally had their out and could focus on guests who were less work. Many of us are thrilled to return to Disney those dates, and hope PW never works their way back in.

Pop Warner moved to Universal and this year is at SeaWorld/Aquatica and surrounding hotels.

:cheer2:

To OP ~ Many of us are returning to Disney that time frame since PW is gone, Holiday traffic, Disney's new Jollywood Nights likely drew people, room discounts AND could be they are holding back some value rooms to boost moderate bookings.

Thank you for your help! Like I said, while we love FQ the best, we are fine with all star movie this trip. …. As long as no groups will be there. Thanks again!

Now I just have to figure out the best time to call and see if we can somehow stay in the same room our whole trip.

One of the girls who works for me coaches a pop Warner cheerleading team. They were at universal last year and sea world this year. She heard universal and disney do not want them back. She said there were a lot of issues at universal last year.

Update-I was able to change my preferred room reservation for the added night, to a standard which is what the rest of my reservation is. Saved $42 and now I believe I will be able to get the 2 reservations connected for the same room the entire time.

Checking regularly pays off. Or at least pays for my mugs.
