Early December....More Crowded than Usual This Year?

It seems like so many people are talking about going to Disney in early December this year and I read on the Resorts board some of the hotels are booked...which is making me a little nervous. I kept reading about the light crowds in early December and thought it was the perfect time to go. Now with all the great rates that have been coming out, I'm wondering if it's going to be alot more crowded than usual?

I've gone the last 6 years around that time. In 2000, I noticed it was more crowded but then 2001 was way down after 9/11. The last 2 years, it wasn't bad. The only park where I've seen crowds enough to worry about was MK on a day when Spectro was being shown that night. The weekend days are more crowded, probably with locals. You usually do see alot of people from these boards going around that time, but I don't think the general public does.

We went Decemeber 3-8th last year. There were lots of people around, and we couldnt get our room request at ASMo, but it was NOTHING compared to Easter week !!! We went to MK on Saturday that week, during a christmas parade filming, and I was surprised at all the people there but the lines were not bad at all. Our longest wait was at the Indy Speedway, about 30 minutes. The other parks seemed less crowded and with FP, we did everything on my "have to do list". Some of the restaurants also had long walk in waits too.... so make your PS's. Seeing the parks and hotels decked out for christmas is amazing!!! Just make sure you bring you coat!!!

We're going the second week of December this year, and I noticed it was much more difficult to get a room over the weekend but the weekdays were no problem.

Maybe people are just getting away for the December weekends.

I know if I could drive there, I'd be there too!!

I think that it depends on what you compair it to. This past year was our first early December trip. WE found it much more crowded than the January trip we have taken in the past. I however have been iin the Summer also and the crowds were NOTHING compaired to that. WE never had too long a wait in line but did use fast pass some. We also only left a park once becasue of crowds and that was MK on a EE day. WE did find MVMCP had a lot more people than we expected but was ok too. Alll the specail things that were going on helps to make up for the crowd difference.

It really is a delightful time to go. ENJOY.
