Early closing at MK on April 22nd?

I know that there is a grad night on Friday the 23rd, but why would MK be closing at 6:30 on Thursday the 22nd of April? Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, that news is true. Grad night is a yearly tradition at the Magic Kingdom. If you want to spend more time at the Magic Kingdom, then plan to go on another day, or hop from there to Epcot when it closes.

Just wondering if anyone knew if the Magic Kingdom will schedule fireworks displays on the nights of the private party (4/22) and grad Nights (4/23 and 4/24) or if there is someplace I can call to find out.

There are Fireworks on Grad Nights, but only for the Grad Night participants, in past these have been around midnight (unless you want to watch from somewhere outside the park) they do not do fireworks during regular park hours due to the early close and the set up time for the things involved with Grad Night.

As for April 22 to my understanding from the other thread it was a park wide buy out for the McDonalds Convention. On that day there are no scheduled fireworks for regular park operating hours. If there will be any during the McDonald's event, I don't know as it is additional cost to the company and some conventions do have them, others don't.

thanks LibertyBelle, we are staying at the polynesian so it looks like we will get a couple of extra fireworks shows on the Grad nights...only problem is I'll more than likely be asleep!! Midnite huh??
