Early Christmas for me

Last night DH, DS10 & I were sitting around watching the news after supper. We do this every night and DS10, who is severely mentally handicapped/autistic, joins us for some cuddling. He goes from one to the other for about an hour until he is all cuddled up, then he wanders off. Anyway, we were watching TV and drinking coffee, so i brought out some Christmas cookies for DH--DS only eats from a spoon and never eats anything you have to bite into(sensory issues) so he would get ice cream later. DS perked up when he saw those cut-out cookies covered in colored sugar and started pointing to his mouth(sign for "eat"). I laid a cookie on his leg just to see what he'd do--darned if he didn't pick it up and eat it :bounce:

Not only did he eat that one, he ate DH's cookie too! We were floored. I guess I know what Santa is going to put in his stocking this year :love:

Awwww! Im so pleased for you. When it comes to kids it can be the smallest things that gives us the biggest pleasure.

I hope he enjoys his stocking present :teeth:
