EARLY checkin

How early has someone been able to check into their flight? What I was thinking was that we are taking a cruise in July. We could take the Disney transportation to the airport, check in our luggage, rent a car for the day, and get in 5-6 hours at Sea World or Universal.

I know that I have checked into a flight 6 hours before departure, but I was in Johannesburg so I was wondering what or if someone has ever tried this before. This way we would just have to return the car and go through the security check, saving us a half hour or so off the time that we had to get to the airport at.

Has anyone ever tried this? I do not know what airline I would be flying since i have not bought tickets yet, but it will most likely be Delta, since they generally have the cheapest fares at the time I buy tickets.

Most airlines have check-in at the port. You check your luggage and get your boarding passes. Then you are free to do whatever you want until you need to arrive at the airport. This will save you a lot of time. I believe you have this option as long as you are flying out the same day.
