Early Check-in

What's the earliest time we should expect to have a room available to us at POR? We're arriving around 9:30 AM. We don't expect to get a room that early, but do rooms typically become available in the late morning, or not until the afternoon?

I think it all depends on how many rooms were reserved the night before. On our last trip we stayed at OKW & arrived at 11am, and our room was not available.

But they will always hold your bags for you so you can head out to the parks!

We're arriving at 7am at POR. I was requesting early checkin as well, but the earliest POR told me that guests can check in is 7:30am. And again, it depends on availability.

I've gotten rooms as early as 10:00AM and as late as 4:00PM. There is no rhymn or reason. Day of the week and crowd level make the difference--maybe. You can check in early, say 7:30AM, but they do not have to make a room available to you until 3:00 or 4:00PM. In October we waited until after 4:00PM before our room at Pop was ready and it was in the middle of the week. But in December we checked into BWI at 11:00AM and got a room right away and the resorts were at Peak (Dec.10th). It's all in the luck and probably also depends on how many room requests you have on your reservation. We are always very flexible, but always expect that our room will NOT be ready, if it is, then great, if it isn't we just zip off to a park and try later.

I have checked in as early as 8:30am before without any problems and been able to go directly to my room. However, it is not a guarantee.

I have had luck getting rooms in the 10:00 range before. If you are looking for something specific (close to bus stop or food court, corner room, etc), you'll could very well have to wait to get what you want. You can check-in, get your key to the world card, head out for the day, and then just call to get your room number later in the day.

Like many of the other posters I have been able to get in a room as early as 10am and as late as 4pm.

With any luck you will be able to check in early.

You just never know. The first time we went to GF we checked in around 10:00 and our room wasn't ready until 3:30. The next time we checked in around 8:30 and the room was ready. We also checked in at POR at 7:30 and the room was ready there. It's really just luck.
