Early check-in

We'll be traveling to aoa resort in september.

What are the advantages of early check-in?
Are there any downsides to it?

It should speed up the check in process when you arrive.

Haven't found a disadvantage yet.

In my experience it does speed up check in. They hand us our packet, give us any information we may need, and answer any questions I have. Then we're on our way.

We've done it every time and honestly I haven't noticed a difference in speed. In fact, last time it seemed to take longer for us to check in than the people who did not do check-in online. So I'm wondering this myself. We'll still do it online, though.

We did online check in for our stay at AOA in May. When we first arrived in the lobby at AOA, we were immediately greeted by a CM before we even approached the check in desk. I gave her our name and informed her that we had done online check in. She grabbed our folder out of a drawer and we were on our way. The whole process from entering the lobby to getting our stuff and being on our way to our room took about 3 minutes. Both of our room requests were granted as well.

As a side note, the front desks CM's at AOA were phenomenal!

We have always gotten our requests (adjoining rooms, etc.) when we checked in early.

I wish they would change online check-in to pre-registration. All you are doing is giving a time of arrival and a credit card for charging. It in no way changes the terms of the cancellation policies.
