Hello Humans!!!

I am staying at the Pop in August. The first day is a room only and then the second day starts our actual vacation package. When I check in on my first day, can I also check in for the rest of my vacation? I thought I read that they will allow this and they will give you everything you need - tickets and dining plan.

Can I use the dining plan/park tickets for the first night?

TIA

Actually, I have read more times than not that someone has to go to GR and check in for the second reservation. In fact, it is possible that you might not even get to stay in the same room, especially if your room types are not the same. Since the secod part of your stay is a package, this will be when you would receive your park tickets and dining credits.

See the wonderful ticket sticky: Cheshire Figment's Ticket Sticky. I think you can pick your park tickets early, but at the park, not the resort. Your dining credits will not be available until the day you packages starts. I think Post#15 (FAQ) that has the section you would want to know about.

No you can't check in for the package before its actual arrival date. However, you will be able to check in for the package starting at 7:00 AM on the day it starts. Have your reservations linked and request that you keep the same room so you won't have to pack up and move. If you have the same room type, it shouldn't be a problem.

You will not be able to use the dining plan until you check in for your package (your 2nd day). You *can* retrieve your tickets early by going to Guest Relations at a park. The method for doing this can be found in the "master ticket sticky" on the Theme Parks board:

I think it was in Post 15.

Depending on your arrival time on your first day, I would probably not go through the trouble of getting your tickets early unless you only have 3-4 days at the parks. If your arrival is late afternoon, going to DTD and having dinner there or just wandering around Pop/AoA and eating at one of the food courts would be a great arrival-day activity. If you are arriving at noon the first day and have a half-day to spend, then yeah, I'd probably take the time to get the tickets early.
