I am taking each of my 4 grandchildren to Disneyland or CA which ever their choice, for their birthdays one at a time. Since this can get pricey I have to limit it to one night. What I did for my first grandchild was a stay at the Anaheim Sheraton. We checked in early, room was ready, and spent the day in the hotel swimming, kicking back and having a nice dinner. The next day we checked out in the morning, spent the day at Disneyland and drove back to San Diego in the evening. Well The Disney Hotel is having GREAT rates for AP holders right now so for my 10 year old grandson I reserved at room at The Disneyland Hotel. My question is, (I could call the hotel and ask too) is if I check in around 12:00 and the room isn't ready, will they give us a pool key and let us enjoy the hotel area and pool until our is ready?

Yup, they can give you a key to access the pool and if it's a MM day you can even take advantage of that if you are there early enough.

Thanks so much. Sounds great!
