Early Check-in??

They gave me the unit # once before it was ready. I was curious so I went and checked. It was ready and the key opened the door. I'm thinking it was a couple of hours before they called me.

Our last trip to the world in June 07 (busy time) we arrived at noon and had a choice of 6 2br`s that were ready.less than 100 yards to bus and pool.IT ROCKED

At the risk on ruining my streak, I have had a room ready every time I've checked in before 4 pm. This was as early as 7 am at SSR, noon at BCV, and 11a.m. at VWL. So resort size is not a factor, I think it's just luck. Too bad it doesn't work for lottery tickets!

If I were driving that far (and someday I may) I wouldwould do one of two things:

1) stop an hour or so short and either get an inexpensive room for the first night to rest and recovery, or use award points (suchs as Marriott) to stay somewhere.

2) Leave early so that my arrival coincides with check-in time. I am actually planning this for my HHI visit. We are about 12 hours away driving so I plan to leave at 4am, to get there by 4 pm.

Have a great trip!

I *think* that they open the rooms in blocks. When I was at AKV last month, at least one of the times when I called, the CM mentioned that they aren't done with that floor yet. So it sounded to me that they don't release the rooms one at a time. Instead they release them in blocks. The other confusing part was when I checked in, the CM circled the "spur" that our room would be in. When I asked what the room numbers would be, the CM didn't know and said that I would have to wait until I called and the room was ready to find out. This really confused me. If they knew down to about a 10 room area where my room was, how come they didn't know which one it was?

My theory is similar but I think they DO know exactly which room you're in but they don't tell you. I believe the keys they give you are able to open the door to your room so they don't tell you where that door is until the room is released to you. Otherwise you could go to the room before they were ready for you to be there. They control when you get the room by controlling when they give you the room number.

See, this fits with my theory. They don't do anything to your keys after they tell you the room is ready and they give you the room number so I think the keys work from the moment you get them.

We arrived at the beach club villas mid-August Before 10 am and our room was ready right away:thumbsup2 We checked in on a Thursday and I was not expecting it to be ready but I hoped so. We had a 1 bedroom villa and we were unpacked and down at the pool my 11:00. Hope it works for youpixiedust:

We have also always been able to check in early to our rooms. I think the latest we have gotten in was at about 2 pm for a one bedroom at BWV. At some point, I know we'll run into a room that we can't have until 5 pm or later. I won't complain, that will be fair when it happens.

Our trip next week won't get us to AKV until probably 8 pm or so. We're staying there just one night so the kids can see the place and we can have a nice dinner at Jikos. Then we'll move to VWL the next morning. I"m going to drop the rest of the gang off at Epcot while I do the leg work to take our stuff over to VWL to check in. I'm hoping to be really lucky and have the room ready in the early morning. But if not, I'll drop everything off with bell services and then will head back to Epcot myself. If we don't get into the room until late that night after our Epcot day, it won't be the end of the world.
