My parents will be staying at DLH next week. I haven't been since COVID, so I don't know a lot about the new early check-in feature through the app for onsite hotels. Is there any disadvantage to using this? And since you bypass the front desk, do you use the app to open the room, or do you still need to stop by for room keys (although that would seem pointless)?
:thanks:

I'm interested in this as well. The one thing I don't like about it is that it seems you have no input in choosing the room. Sometimes I'm given a room that's far away from where I'd prefer and I don't know what you can do if that happens with online check in. I'd be afraid that if you'd already checked in, it might be difficult to change to a different room at the desk. I'm thinking, for myself, I might not do the online check in.

we did online check In for GCH in late august after getting the email, and it did not help at all. Rooms were not ready, and we were still directed to the front desk and a 20 min. wait to get card keys . No explanation given. Felt like we’re just helping them beta test the app. in contrast to the Universal Hilton, where it was fully up and running and we could bypass the desk. However, it should be noted that you can miss key hotel info when skipping the desk, such as nuances with parking charges, WiFi, meals, etc. we ended up coming back to the desk after check in anyway
