My family will be arriving at Orlando some time mid morning 10-11ish at All Star Movies in the last week of December. If our room isn't ready (which probably won't be until 3) can we leave our bags at the bell service center and go to one of the parks? Has anyone done this? I hope that it's safe...like our bags won't be stolen, etc.

Also, when our room is ready, I understand that they'll text me. When I get this text, do I have to go back to the resort by a certain time or can I stay at the park until it closes and get our bags that night (8ish?) Will they hold our bags that long?

I'm sorry for all the questions! It's my first time staying on-site so I've never done this before!

1. That's fine, hundreds of people do that every single day.

2. You can stay in the park as long as you'd like.

Yes you can leave them at bell services. Yes it's safe. Yes you can stay at the parks til closure and then acquire your bags!

So basically, you're all set!

Yes they will hold your bags all day. We have done that and never had any problems. You don't have to come back when you get the "room ready" text

Yay!! Thank you so much! I feel like that just opened up a lot of leniency in my planning!

Yes, in fact, it is so safe, if you change your mind about a bag and want it back right after you drop it off, you will be asked for the claim check! I got a mini tour of where they actually hold bags last year when my DH accidentally gave bell services our park bags. They would not simply hand it back. They were very nice about it, and I was impressed by how thoroughly they check! On another note, here is a possibility they may have a room for you when you arrive. We have had a room available at 10:30 a.m. We were careful not to put in room requests, except early check in.

yes you can leave your bags at bell service and when you do tell them you would like your bag deliverd to your room, yes they will be safe, go to the park and then when you are done for the day look at your phone and see where your room is and then go to your room if something happens and they do not text you ( I have gone 7 times this year and one time they did not text me) go to the front desk and ask there is someone there 24/7
