My family and I will be checking into BWV before noon this June. We intend to stop and buy groceries on our way, but I just thought that part of those groceries will be perishable (milk, OJ, bacon, deli meats). What can I do with these items if there is not a room ready for us to check into?

Bell services will be happy to store your groceries until your room is ready. They have a fridge/freezer available, will tag your items and bring them to your room with your luggage.

have a great trip!

Thanks for posting this bnlbebes. I was also wondering about what I was going to do with the cold stuff or if I was going to have to wait to go shopping after I checked into the room. Peggy Sue, do you just have the cold stuff bagged together and tell the bellman that it must be kept cold? After all the times we have been to the BWV I did not know this. This will be great for our trip in June.

The GF stored our milk for us (three 1/2 gallons) until our room was ready :) I'm sure that the BW will do the same for you :)

We have always stopped for groceries on the way to BWV; once there, we hate to go back out right away :)

The bellmen are extremely helpful with the groceries. Make sure to pack the cold stuff together to make it easier on everyone....We actually went back to the storage area last time as we forgot to take out our sneakers before the luggage was stored. They have large refrigerated areas very similar to the ones in the markets with the clear glass doors on them....

When your room is ready, just make sure to mention you also have bags in the fridge.....they will be tagged but helps the bellman to know to look in there for them....

Have fun!

Last visit to VWL we just e-mailed a very specific shopping list to Goodings and they delivered to the Hotel. The bellstaff transfered it to cold storage and about 20 minutes after checking in, we were enjoying fresh sushi and cold wine in our villa. A highly recommended indulgence and most welcome after a busy day of travel
