Early breakfast ADR H&V and DHS opening questions

We have an 8:05 am ADR next week Tuesday for the H&V character breakfast. It's been four years since we were at DHS and while I know from Robo's great maps where H&V is located, I don't recall where the entrance to the restaurant is. If we finish our breakfast before 9:00 am, are we shepherded to the main rope drop wait area? Or is there some other provision for those leaving H&V, like a secondary wait area? I'm also curious in general if the H&V entrance is on the Mickey Hat side of the building.

Seems like a silly question to ask, but I want to make sure I can secure a set of FPs to TSM for my family. Nothing like planning ahead when you're anxiously awaiting your WDW vacation to start!
