I read on the Resorts Board that the AK parking lot often opens late. DH has to meet the guide for his tour at 7:45 AM. He is planning on taking a taxi from BCV to the AK. The CM taking the reservations indicated this was the safest way. Is this the case or what would you suggest?
If he is late he may miss his tour.

I did this tour two weeks ago and used the resort buses, I was at the bus stop at about 0700 and the bus came about 720 got to AK at about 0740 and the parking lot was already open. I met the guide and signed the paper work and then he gave us instructions where to go and we went into AK he waited for two other guests that weren't there yet. There were also people there for Breakfast reservations. This was on a day when AK didn't open until 9 am so he should be fine taking the bus. I was staying at the BWV so it would be the same bus as BCV. I was the only one on the bus.

:) For breakfast I would be fine on the bus, for a specialty tour I would take a taxi. JMO. ;)

This is our dilemna. We were planning the taxi to be safe and to be sure. Then I read that the parking lot often doesn't open in time. I think the earliest breakfast ADR is 8:05 and he needs to meet his guide at 7:45. That's a big difference at that time of day.

Tozzie, how did you enjoy the trek? Am I correct that they give you a Photopass CD?

How does the taxi driver let you off if the parking lot is not open?

Probably best to be at your own resort bus stop super early.

Off siters report to a resort (Coronado or All Star suggested), say you are eating breakfast there, then self park and go to the bus stop the same 75 minutes in advance resort guests need. (You could grab a pastry at the food court to nibble on while waiting for the bus.)

I posted my experience and the parking lot was open way before 8 am and the guide waited for two people who were later arriving than the rest of the group, and it was well past 745 when they arrived it was after they opened the turnsiles for AK for us and the breakfast guests. I posted my personal experience comming from the same resort area you are staying at, which would mean the same buses, I think you will be fine taking resort transportation just be at the bus stop at 7 am or even a little earlier.

I loved the tour it was awesome, you do get the photo cd and the pictures are great, they mail it to you and I got it about 10 days after the trek and the pictures are amazing. It was well worth the cost of the tour. Tell your husband I hope he has a great time.
