Early ADR and morning EMH

I have an 8:05 ADR at CP on a day when the MK has a morning EMH (the EMH was added after I made my reservation and I was hoping to do the rope drop).

Since I am not staying onsite, do I need anything other than my ADR number to get in? When I am done eating (probably around 8:45), do I need to go back to the entrance or can I stay in the park?

You'll need your ADR confirmation and your park ticket for that day to get in for your 8:05 reservation.

Once you're in, you're in. No need to go back out and wait. (Disney recommends you allow an hour for table service with characters, so they expect you not to be done until after 9am.)
