Earliest possible check in

Technically I will be arriving the 28th since it'll already be on midnight but I put my reservation that I will be checking in the 27th.
You're fine if your reservation is 7/27-8/2. You would just need to put your approximate arrival time when you do online check in.

Awesome! I got scared for a moment because I already payed. I've seen a lot of posts saying they've arrived at 1 am to 3 am without any problems. My concern for now is that I put that I would check out the 2nd August. Since my flight the 2nd is at 6:45 am, which means 3:45 am for the magical express, when do I check out?

If you want a room to sleep in before your flight, you need to check-out on August 2.

Hotels don't turn over at midnight. Any guest arriving after midnight, but before 6AM at Disney World should have a reservation for the day before so you can go right to a room. If you try to check in at 3AM for a reservation that starts on that same day, you are checking in one day early.

There's no way I would arrive at 3am and sleep in my car. Why not leave later? Or leave earlier and get a cheap off site hotel for the night?

I have a similar question, and thought I'd ask here instead of starting a separate thread. We have a room booked at Boardwalk Villas starting on a Saturday night for 7 nights. It turned out the best flight we could get is Friday night arriving at MCO at 10:30 pm. If I book friday night at a cheaper resort (since I am completely out of DVC points) how late can you check in? I'm worried because we will be arriving so late. They wouldn't consider us a no show, and give the room away would they? Or does the check in counter close? If the flight is delayed we may arrive after midnight. I'm also considering one night at a hotel closer to the airport. I'm just undecided.

There is someone at the front desk 24 hours. If you do online check in it asks what time you're expecting to get to the hotel.

Thanks. I was looking at Coronado springs on Expedia and it lists check in time ends at 11 pm. So that worried me.

I have frequently checked in to hotels all over at late hours. Just make sure you have the night before actually booked and I always note that I will be a late arrival on the reservation so they are aware.

My flight the day I leave leaves at 6:45 am on the 2nd of August. So technically, I will be leaving WDW at 3:45 am for the Magical Express. When do I check-out? I put in my reservation that I'm checking out the 2nd of August. Can I check out at midnight on the 28th?

When you get to the front desk to catch the Magical Express. But you don't even have to Check Out. I haven't physically checked out of a WDW resort in about 7 years.

No. You need to vacate your room by 11 AM on checkout day. If you stay until midnight you are paying for that day, you might as well stay and rest until 3:45 - you have already paid for it.

If you are leaving on August 2, then you need to "check out" when you leave on August the 2nd. If you "check out" on the first of August, you will need to be out of your room by 11:00 am that day. Plus, I am not sure that you would qualify for DME on the second because you checked out on the first (although I don't know this for sure - just a potential problem you would have to check on).
It would be a miserable homeless day and early night if you checked out on the first, IMO.
However, that said, you can check out on the first, give your bags to Bell Services and go to the airport sometime on the first. Then you can sit up in the airport all night (I wouldn't even consider it) or check into the hotel at MCO until 2 hours before flight time (I hear that this is a good option and one that I would seriously consider with an early morning flight).

As Dansdad said, you don't actually have to 'check out' by going to the front desk anymore, you can just leave on the appropriate day when your reservation ends.

So if I'm correct, I stay and rest in my room until 3:45 am and then check out once DME is ready to pick me up ?

Woops. I meant check out midnight the 2nd of August
Ideally, you should be at the DME pick up location at least 15 mins. before scheduled pick up in case they are running early. You will also need to take into consideration the amount of time it will take to get from your room to the pick up location with your luggage. If you intend to physically check out, add another 10-15 mins.

So, if DME is picking you up at 3:45 AM, then checking out at 3:45 AM is too late and midnight is way too early.

I'll probably checking out the 2nd August at 3:15 am.
