Earliest hour to start online booking?

I am trying to switch my reservation. Each day as it gets closer though, the first day of the seven sells out. I can't seem to get a straight answer to this question.

What is the earliest hour I can go online and do a booking? If I need to book a room 7 months out from tomorrow can I go on at midnight? 6 am? 8 am?

I've gotten all three answers lately.

Online is 8 AM Eastern.

Keep in mind that online booking does start at 8am, however if you do not have enough points to book your "new" room with out canceling your "old" room you will have to cancel the current reservation to free up those points. Therefore if you can not book the new room you will be with out a room.

I think there is now a "hold" happening online. When you book there is a warning that comes up stating that you have only a certain amount of time to complete the reservation (can't remember how many minutes). I have actually started booking then switched to another browser to cancel a reservation, then completed the booking. I think it also works just using a separate window in the same browser.

This is very true but if the OP doesn't have enough available points what other choice is there?

What if I have enough points to make the ressie but my current ressie is using banked points? If I go online at 8 am and make the new ressie - then cancel the old one - would I still be able to use the banked points first? I didn't think that this would work, so I am planning to call at 9 am instead.

OP if what you are seeing is that the day from which you are exactly 7 months out keeps disappearing as soon as you check at 8 a.m., then what is happening is that the resort and room class you are looking at has very few and possibly only one room open in the category you are seeking when 8 a.m. hits and it goes to the first person at 8 a.m. whose reservation hits the server -- that is not necessarily the first person to hit "reserve" but instead the first who hits "reserve" and also has the fastest delivery time to the Disney server. You are at a time of year, when members are looking for last week of Oct at 7 months out, during which rooms at near park resorts even if shown as open at exactly 8 a.m. can be gone in seconds as soon as on-line reserving opens at 8 a.m..

Which is exactly why I want to be on as soon as I can to try to be that first person.

I could have done it this morning. But I don't have enough points for the whole week for two rooms. Every time I travel I have to book two studios. My parents always come with us, so we need a room, they need a room. So it makes it even harder to transfer two rooms over.

But now, the night of the 24th is blocked out. So I might be out of luck. Cause now I'll have to wait 3 more days, and that's only if the 25th stays open.

Dilemmas.
