Just got back today and could not believe how many holiday decorations were already up at the Resorts. I think this is the earliest I have ever seen them at WDW. I remember when the overnight magic of the holiday happend at Thanksgiving.

My son enjoyed seeing the trees, but I was kind of disappointed. Even though hearing Christmas music at the Boardwalk was nice.

Kind of silly to be complaining about decorations going up early! Disney can't just do it "overnight". The results are well worth it and I'm ready for a little christmas right now, but I'll have to wait til we get to BCV on 12/26

When we stayed at POR in '01, we were there in early Nov. The day we were to check out, we woke up to beautiful holiday decorations in the main bldg. Early? Yes, but it was truely magical for those of us who had to leave. As long as they wait until after Halloween, I'm okay with it. Waaay too much for them to do overnight on THanksgiving night.

They can't make everyone happy. There is another thread on the board where a poster is worried the decorations won't be up for thier visit very soon.

we have always gone to WDW at Easter or during "Jersey Week" and i keep on saying i want to go when it's decorated for the holidays. well we just returned home on the 8th and we were so lucky to see the start of beautiful holiday decorations our last few days there. i can only imagine how wonderful it looks when they are all finished decorating. the Boardwalk and Beach Club hotels were simply glistening! i thought getting a glimpse of the holidays early was awesome!

Our family is even more excited after learning decorating has begun. We thought we'd miss it as well.

I think before they did decorated but didn't turn on the lights until after Thankgiving - so you didn't notice most of the decorations.

I am very glad they are up!!!

So next year if I go late Oct - I get Halloween Party - early Nov --food/wine festavial then if I am lucky some Christmas decorations - some very good to me!!!

We were at WDW around this time last year (c/o 11/6/03). We went downstairs to the lobby and all of a sudden we saw all the Christmas decorations up. Everyone that saw this said the Elv's were up all night putting up the decorations. We loved it. Last year we originally had our resv's at Christmas time. So it was a treat for us that we got to see the Christmas decorations and to hear the Christmas music. I cannot wait to see all the Christmas decorations this year :teeth:.

We saw them putting up decorations during our stay which was the end of October. We specially saw them installing some lights on the evening of the 27th. I want to say it was at the entrance of CSR, but I can't remember for sure. It was neat to see because the lights were on as they were trying to get them up. :D

MK is still magical - Thanksgiving nothing - Friday AM - WOW - tree is up at end of Main St. - all the garland is hung and all the flower hanging pots are changed and it goes on and on. Two years ago we were at OKW Thanksgiving week and when we left on the last day they finally put the tree up. In the past there was posted a schedule of nights each park or resort got decorated. Haven't seen that this year.

I didn't realize they would be up so soon too, but this past weekend we went over to the Poly on Friday without decorations up, went pack Saturday and POOF there was the Christmas tree and the rest of the decorations up!! It was amazing!!:)
