Earliest Crystal Palace ADR?

I know this is a question that gets asked all of the time, but a friend of mine's 180 time period is coming up in a week and he wants to make the earliest reservation possible prior to opening of the park. His question was 2 fold. First of all, what is it and 2, does that earliest time change with the park opening time and or EMH time? What he's concerned about is that it appears that the current park opening time will be 9:00 AM on the day he's planning to visit. If he's lucky and gets an ADR of 8:00 AM (if that's the earliest time), and Disney subsequently extends the park hours to 8:00 AM several months later, are they pretty much stuck?

For a typical day, earliest ADR is 8:05. It does not always change if there are EMH in the morning. I've mostly seen earlier over Christmas, but not other times of year.

If Disney make open 8:00 AM, he is either stuck, or can try to change his dining time. But it won't be PPO.

For most mornings the earliest reservation will be at 8:00 or 8:05 regardless of whether there is an EMH or a change in the park's opening time. The only time I've seen earlier reservations is during the time between Christmas and New Year.

8:00 is the earliest time, if the park hours change he can keep the reservation or try to change to a different day.

He can always cancel if he decides he doesn't want the ressie due to park times changing. I have seen it go both ways where it works perfectly or there are people on the board dumping a reservation because Disney announced earlier hours. If my math is correct he is going mid to late August(not sure how long he is staying), so he may want to look at a crowd calendar as well to see how busy the parks are expected to be. Quieter times shorter hours and of the course the opposite with busier times. Good luck!!!

8:05a has always been the earliest ADR I've ever seen even though some areas of the website will say 8am. If it were me and Disney suddenly changed park hours so that this is no longer a PPO ADR, I'd probably cancel. So, maybe wise to have a backup plan in mind. While I prefer PPO ADRs for breakfast, if it's a busy time, my preferred approach is the latest breakfast seating. You get breakfast prices while filling up at what's really the start of lunch time.

I tried this last time without luck. I believe I got the latest seating at like 10:40 or so. They had roped off one side at around 11am where they loaded lunch food, but it was still roped off when I left just before 11:30. Lunch officially starts at 11:30.
