I know you can drive up and semi check in before the check in time of 11 a.m., but I'm wondering about if you are scheduled to check in on a MM day is it possible to show up at 6 a.m. and get a passkey to enter the park for MM and come back later in the day to really check into a room? I love MM and all the rides you can hit in that extra hour and am trying to squeeze as much in as possible. Has anyone done this before?

Absolutely! Been done, and highly recommended! Get in as many MM's as possible. :)

Just a quick FYI, check out time is at 11, check in isn't until 3. But yes, you absolutely can "check in" that early, get your pass key and head to the parks. :)

We checked in to PPH just after 6am specifically to get MM that day. Was painful getting up, b/c we got into the Hilton after midnight, but it was worth it!

They give you your keycard, and they give you a number to call later on, to find out when your room is ready. We had been upgraded b/c we got "Big Kahuna Family of the Day", so it might have been different for us than a normal day, but I think hubby had to go to the desk to find out what room we were in, b/c it took extra time to get our room (well, suite, b/c of the upgrade). I'm not sure if normally you have to go to the desk, or if it's just automatically coded onto your keycard, no stopping at the desk needed.

Anyway, we did it just back in December. I love that you can do that!

Hi

We have stayed at GCH twice, once in 2007 and once in 2008.
The first trip we were were given pass cards to the room but told to call back as the room was not ready. It was not ready until 3:30pm.

The last trip we arrived at 12:00pm and were able to check in early and go to our room. Just depends how booked they are.

Thanks for the great info all. I definitely try and spend as much time at the parks as I can and nothing beats MM. I figured on a board like this with fellow Disney enthusiasts someone would have thought of and done the same thing and could let me know. Thanks again!
