Can anyone explain this one to me? Obviously you can't make ressies. Is it a sit down place? Is it hard to get into? We are thinking about going around 4:00 pm in the afternoon before we go to Cirque Du Soleil. Does this sound safe or should I go some place there that takes ressies so that we know we'll get in and get out on time?

Hi,
Earl is a very quick counter service Sandwich shop. We've gone there several times and service has always been very quick. You wait in line, order, they give you a number and call you up a few minutes later to pick up. The sandwiches are yummy! There are tables inside and outside. I don't think you will have any issues.

My favorite is the "Original".

Earl is a YUMMY counter service sandwich place in DTD. Whenever we have been there, there has been quite a line and we've waited between 5 and 15 minutes. It's worth it, though! There is plenty of seating both inside and out. There's also a huge selection of sandwiches and side items.

I highly doubt the wait will be super long at 4:00. Go and enjoy!

The Earl of Sandwich is a must do and has been ever since it opened. My wife laughed at me when I got upset by the absence of my favorite sandwhich, the Scudetto, however, they still do make it, just ask for Italian and have them add marinara sauce. It's a little bit of heaven on a roll. ::yes::

I can't wait to get my fix in December. :woohoo:

Another fan of Earl of Sandwich here, we love that place and have to go every trip. I agree with the above poster do not let the line scare you off, because in the middle of the day it can be long but it moves fast. If it's busy have someone in your party wait around outside to grab a table, they have inside seating but I love people watching!:thumbsup2

Is counter service place. We didn't think it was worth to put in your dinning plan because in this place you have to pick either dessert or a side you can't get both like in other places. The Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD has better food.

We waited for over 20 minutes on line the day we went...DH looked for a table the entire time with no luck...We waited like hawks for someone to get up after another 10 minutes of waiting...Not good for us because we have small children and waiting that long without a table was difficult...The food was good but I would move on the Wolfgang if there is a long line at EOS...Not worth that long of a wait...

JMO ;)

I love there sandwiches! Never had much of a wait there...maybe a few minutes for a table but overall quick service. (and i ate there during the christmas/new years season and still found it quick) :)

It's just a counter service (literally - you order at the counter and then find a table) sandwich shop. Similar to Panera, Corner Bakery, etc.

If the place is jammed, and you can't easily spot tables, you can always go practically next door and dine at WPE (which is by far my favorite of the two). It's also counter service.

At 4 in the afternoon, you're likely to find a mostly empty place so you won't have any issues jumping in there for a quick dinner. Sandwiches are decent, atmosphere is nice.

Earl of Sandwich is very good, but they do tend to be a little crowded at times. However, each time that I have been there when they've been busy, the line has been to the door and it's only taken around 20 minutes to get through the line. What we do is have one or two people order the sandwiches, and then the others in the group wait for a table to open up if it's busy.

However, I do agree with a lot of the other posts. Wolfgang Puck Express is a really good option as well if you need somewhere quick. They have a large amount of things on the menu and are very quick with their service. Plus, it's a quick service still, so you'll get in very quickly.

Thanks everyone! Sounds safe to me! Can't wait to go! It's also good thing to know that WGPE is right next door too! We went to the WGP Cafe last year and weren't REAL impressed, but it wasn't awful, just didn't want to do it again. Thanks for the tips everyone! Not too far away now! :goodvibes

Went to EOS just this past January. Had no problems at lunch time. Quick and easy. If you are a AAA member there is a discount I believe... really a nice place :)
