Earl of Sandwich - changed ??

Hi. I got an e-mail from EoS and we looked at the menu for our upcoming trip. Am I correct in saying that the sandwich format is totally different now? It's no longer a bread pockets, sealed on the sides, and they are now regular sandwiches?

If it's true, that's so disappointing. Any recent info??

When were they ever bread pockets? I've only ever had regular, sliced-in-half-bread sandwiches there.

We haven't been there in about 4 years. They were sandwiches baked inside bread dough, not open on the sides. It's great for all the messy stuff, keeps it in.

I've never seen them that (bread pocket) way. I haven't eaten at the WDW one in probably 5 years, but have been to other locations more recently and they've always been like they're shown on their website/the picture above.

Never, ever had a sandwich from EoS other than the type pictured. Been going for many years.

I don't know if its listed on the menu but I saw a sign for it yesterday while waiting in the line that went all the way out the door!
Luckily EoS is very efficient so the line didn't take long.

I ate there on Friday and Monday.
There has been absolutely no change in the way the sandwiches are made since I started eating there 5 years ago.
They have never been in bread pockets. They have always been on bread open on the sides.
I've eaten at the one at DLR as well and they were exactly the same.

I'm confused. I've been eating EoS since 2004 and I've always had a normal sandwich between bread. What is this bread pocket you speak of?

I am pretty sure I went to Earl of Sandwich in 2007 and 2010 and they were just regular sandwiches.

Heck, I am seeing reviews as early as 2004... normal sandwiches. I can find no information about any sort of bread pockets.

Edited to add: Now, when they press the hot sandwiches it does look a little bit like they may be as the OP is describing, but they are still normal sandwiches. Wondering if that may be the confusion.

For many, many years we've only had regular old AWESOME sandwiches. No pockets.

Yep, been going to EoS since 2005; never heard of bread pockets. Maybe you're thinking of another restaurant?

We've been going since they opened and they have never been bread pockets. The bread is split, filled and then run through the oven. They are the same as they always have been.
