We are considering going to DTD on Halloween night for the Halloween activities, and will have a CS dinner there as well. I have read so much about how great E of S is, but my husband is the type who would rather not have sandwhiches for dinner. I just did a search on WPE and it gets really good reviews, too! So if you have been to both, which one did you prefer?

Also, they are supposed to have some entertainment (comedian, magician) next to E of S. I'm thinking that might make the line for E of S that much longer. On the other hand, I'm not sure how far away WPE is, and if it would be too much of a hassle to eat there and then get to the activities through the crowds. Any advice?

THANKS!!!;)

I've never heard of entertainment at Earl of Sandwich. You order, you pay, you pick up, you eat. Really good sandwiches, too. IMHO, it's all about that fantastic bread they use. The lines often look deceptively long, but they move fairly quickly. Don't be intimidated if you see a "long" line.

Wolfgang Puck Express is ok, but I don't go out of my way to go there.
Your mileage may vary, as you might love it there.

I found E of S to be a bit boring - i personally wouldn't do dinner there. I love WPE - DW loves their salads, i think their pizza/flatbreads are great, the quesadilla is one of my favorites, and they actually have really good iced tea too. They are a psuedo-counter service - you order at a counter but they will bring you your food and refill your drinks for you. I think it is a great place and it is our "must do" if we are doing CS at DTD.

Thanks for the quick replies!!!

BriarRosie, I was referring to Halloween night specifically, there are magic and comic acts scheduled "at the Pumpkin Patch" next to E of S. This according to the DIS.

WPE is maybe two or 3 doors down from E of S so it shouldn't be that far away from the activities. Here is a link to a map http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/downtown.htm WPE is number 33 and E of S is number 32.

Oh, loved WPE! Have never eaten at E of S so I can't compare.

We are doing both day before we check into our disney resort! EOS for lunch, do some shopping and DQ and then WGPE for dinner! I thought the sandwhiches were great, here we have Subway, Quiznos and Blimpies thats it so to me EOS is gourmet! LOL WGPE I love the bbq chicken quesidilla and my DS loves the rotissere chicken and mash po. Ive seen the pizza and pocket sandwhiches and they looked amazing. Now I just have to get myself to try one of those and give up my bbq chicken quesidilla!

Both places are delicious.
Both places are in the same area of the marketplace.
Both can have comparable lines..sometimes nobody sometimes busy.
If you are more hungry at the time, go to WP, the meals are pretty big and I rarely see anyone finish them. Earl portions are big, but not over the top big like WP.
If you want something fast and possibly portable, go to Earl for the sandwiches/salads/wraps.
If you are on the DDP and trying to maximize your dollar, WP prices are much much higher than Earl. You can get a sandwich at Earl for about $6.
Likewise, if you are paying OOP and want to watch the budget, Earl is very reasonably priced. Both have portions big enough to share (definitely MORE than big enough at WP).

The good thing is, they are both CS and you don't have to decide til you get there. NO ADR!!!!...wooo hooo!

My family loved EofS until we ate at WGPE. On the DDP your CS credit goes further. You are entitled to a beverage, entree and dessert. At WGPE the portions are large enough to share. The pizzas are as big as a plate, I didn't finish mine. The creme brulee was :thumbsup2. The service reminds us of Noodles and Company. On a future trips we will probably frequent WGPE more than once. As a family we ate lunch there, but my kids also had breakfast there at 9am when they opened. The kids commented that they had the place to themselves.

EoS is sandwiches, my DH wouldn't care for this as dinner either. Got to WPE, he willbe much happier with dinner, rather than a sandwich

have fun!

WPE in the Marketplace was by far our best counter service meal in WDW. The day we had lunch there we ended up so full we never ate dinner that night. Great selection, friendly service and air conditioned.

My vote is for Earl of S. Last year between EOS and the disney shopping store they had a magician one night and another night they had about 3 or 4 women christams carolers that pulled my duaghter and other kids up with them.

If you sit outside of EOS you can watch these acts.

I'm not a sandwich person...for me equivalent of Panera's....but better. WPE for dinner for sure - CS with table service...you can potentially sit outside.

Thanks for all the replies! It looks like we'll go to Wolfgang Puck Express for dinner Halloween night, but may try E of S for lunch another day.
And thanks for the map, Pikester! I hadn't seen that one. :cool1:

DH and I have been dreaming about WPE all year.......our meals there were far superior to any CS at Disney.

WPE is great, we really do not care for EoS at all. We have never been disappointed at WPE.
