Ear-drum shattering screaming by ToT guests throughout the entire ride.

You guys are too easy going. When I come across a screamer, I always call them out on it. Usually nicely...at first. 9 out of 10 times they shut up (especially if it's a mortified teenage).

Meh. Doesn't bother me that much. It happened once on Tower of Terror. It was a bit much but hey people do stuff that irritates me all of the time. I hate when people pop gum but I can't really dictate to them.

Yep, they will usually stop if you call them on it.

I try to out-scream them. AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Are some of you reading your own posts? Complaining about screaming on thrill rides and oohing and ahhhing over fireworks? Is this a joke thread?

My thoughts exactly. If someone had a megaphone and was screaming in my ear like an idiot then yes I'd have an issue with that particular situation. But while I'm on a ride that is suppose to excite you and make you hoop and holler.....NO WAY.

Once again folks it's Disney. The happiest place on earth. If you get bad vibes at any specific area of any of the parks the good thing is that you can find something to see, do, whatever.
I don't think that you will get thrown in Disney jail for cutting up and carrying on. It's all about tolerance. 

Off the soap box now.

So you think its ok for a group of teens to purposely go out of thier way to scare little kids and generallt irritate people? That is the whole point of screaming on a ride like haunted mansion, get little kids to cry and tick off thier parents.

Oh the horror. :worried:

This new generation of teenagers acting immature in a theme park. What is the world coming to?

All I know is that I took my daughter and her friend to a Taylor Swift concert recently in Orlando as part of her 13th birthday present. You think tolerating a few screamers on ToT for 10 minutes is bad - try 10,000 little girls scorching their lungs out for 2 hours. That was 3 weeks ago and I'm still deaf. :scared1:

We were on Space Mountain with a young man (late teens, maybe early 20s) who was riding with a group of young ladies. He screamed the whole way through, for effect, for the girls. I don't know which was funnier - him or the girls! None of them bothered us in the least.

Sorry, but it is just rude and they should know better. I have a feeling you are probably one of them. Done feeding the troll.

For years I've also been annoyed by those occaisions when a screamer or a few are on the right with me.

Then something amazing happened. My daughter overcame her fear of the thril rides at age 12. And, as it turns out...

My daughter is a screamer.

Not a sometimes screamer, not a screamer at the best moments or the sudden drops.

She screams as soon as the motion begins and doesn't stop till it ends. And my ears hurt, and I love it, because I can tell she is having the time of her life.

We rode ToT last trip with an elevator full of cheerleaders and us... I thought we would never hear again. ;) The screams and shrieks started immediately, for no "reason" and then they'd giggle and then scream again. This was unusual though, we have been on it since with a more "normal" experience. I think it depends on your fellow rider.

My son would have gladly taken your spot with the cheerleaders.... :thumbsup2

I have to agree, generally. If this is going on in the Hall of Presidents, shame on the little buggers. On ToT, the freedom to shriek like a lunatic is part of the fun, and part of what makes the ride that much more exciting for those who tend to like the thrill-ride experience. Certainly there are exceptions, but you can't please everyone, so it's either make everyone sit on their hands and enjoy in stoic silence, which is party-pooper loserville, or you tolerate some noise with your lurching stomach. :stir:

yes, it's rude...NEWSFLASH - teenagers are rude and selfish, they rarely think of anyone but themselves.

I'm not saying you have to like it because I don't either, but there is zero reason to let it ruffle your feathers. This is nothing new, teenagers have been this way, and will be this way for a long, LONG, LONG, LONG time.

I mean, most of us here are adults. I hope to think that by the time we are functioning adults we have come to expect certain things. Teenagers being irresponsible trouble makers, usually for attention being one of them.

I have a much bigger problem with adults who show no concern for other people in the parks than I do kids.

In other news, the Sun is hot.

We had a group of teens do this on our last trip, and the little girl in the next doom buggy was terrified. When we got to the crystal ball room where you can see across, I looked right at them and yelled "Why don't you grow up?". We didn't hear a peep the rest of the ride!

Good for you!

I can see both sides of this. If you are honestly terrified, or in awe, a scream can be understood. However the fake screaming, or shouting is very annoying.

Last year I was trying to watch Illuminations with my nephew, who was recording the show. A couple of girls who looked around 19 years old took one look at him holding his camera up, and proceeded to scream every time a firework went off. It was pretty much constant screaming. "OOOH!! AHH!! WOW!!!!" for the whole show. They left right before the We Go On part started, thank goodness. Another group of people looked at us when they left and said "We thought they would never leave!"

There is a difference between being caught up in the moment and expressing that out loud, and being a jerk and being loud just to be loud.

And I would hope most rude and selfish teens (or even adults) have come to expect getting called out on their shenanigans by us grumpy adults.

LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE!!! Please don't let the wussification of America infect Disney.

It's not a matter of lightening up, it's a matter of an experience being ruined.

Last June I went with my BFF who had never been, I had to recap the ENTIRE stretching room scene for her on HM because some man (at least 40 with a lady friend) was shreaking causing his friend to laugh hysterically through the entire thing. The same happened on RnR when a group of people decided to speak loudly through the entire pre-show (the were asked to quiet down by the CM but they refused)

So again, it's not about lightening up, it's about people having respect for others, which clearly doesn't happen anymore :confused3. What annoys me even more, is that every time I have experienced this (there are more than just the 2 mentioned above), they were NOT teens but grown adults

Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but unless they're your teens, why do you expect them to know anything or care what you think anyway. Even if they do stop it, most of the time they're only doing it to avoid confrontation and will continue just as soon as you aren't around.

They aren't going to "see the light" because you call them out.

I'm not advocating the behavior whatsoever, but as an adult you should expect it, keep aware of who you are in line with and their behavior. Very rarely will they be angels in line, then flip a switch when the lights go out. They are usually without their parents in a group of at least two. They are easily identifiable and relatively easy to avoid.
