I got the same thing so we missed it.
Amazon changes their prices pretty quickly so when you see a price drop, you have to snag it fast before they increase it again.

Try just keeping both items in your cart and then checking on them periodically. Amazon (at least in my experience) is famous for lowering and raising prices with no rhyme or reason--so you may just get lucky again.
