EA Sports Active for the Wii

Am on day 6 and WOW. This is harder than I thought and I have it on EASY!
Each workout is about 20 min long, but I am sweating profusely by the middle of it. I do 22 min of yoga on wii fit first then this.

If easy is this hard, how bad are the other levels?????

My legs are killing me and it feels good!

Each workout builds up. By the time you get to the middle of the hard level you'll be 30-40 mins. It kills at first but you won't want to quit because it's too hard. I built up to hard and am on my 2nd 30 day hard. More Exercises is even tougher!
 
Did you start out at hard? Or lower?

I am so out of shape I knew I had to start EASY. The jumping leg switching lunges are the hardest so far, but I tried my best.

No, I started Easy back in June. Went to medium then hard. I has More workouts coming so I would pick random workouts from hard until it came. Started More Workouts on medium and found it pretty tough. I slacked during the holidays so went back to the 30 day hard before I moved onto More Workouts again.

You know, I don't do the jumping lunges or squats, for some reason the side to side jumps I end up hurt so I stick to the Roller Blading and basket ball for jumps. I just take them out of the work out and do extra elsewhere.

Has it helped you tone up and lose any weight? Once I get into this habit I am going to start weight watchers again too. Figured one new thing at a time.

Definitely am much more toned especially in my legs. DH and eldest DD have mentioned it several times. I have lost 11lbs so far. Not a whole lot but I didn't modify my eating either. Just starting on that as well as joined a cheapy gym ($12 a month) so that I can get some time on a treadmill a couple of times a week. I love EA Sports but it doesn't provide enough cardio.

I just started day 1 yesterday....will see how it goes, I ordered it when it was on special several weeks ago and it was on backorder. I forgot about it. I started Jillian Burn DVD two days ago....that is a killer workout for 20 minutes. I was sore yesterday, then got Active in the mail and did them both yesterday...now I can't move today. 40 minutes of workout shouldn't have me this sore....hoping it goes away as the day rolls along so I can do them today, both are 30 day challenges.

Make sure your nun chuck is in the strap correctly and that you don't have the strap to high on your leg. When you do the lunge make sure you get low enough and then don't move until the trainer tells you to or you get the little chime sound. If you move even a smidge before you're supposed to it gets stuck. Once you get a feel for how the sensors work it won't be too much of an issue anymore. Hope that helps.
 
The Active is a great workout. It is killing me. I am slowly working my way up from my Wii Fit. My DH and I also sometimes have Nunchuk issues. You have to figure exactly what way to get it facing the screen and can be annoying. My problem is with the damn squats!! I always feel like I am going to wind up on my bum! My Husband and Son think it's hilarious!
 
I can get it to register the the alternating side lunges with no problem, but not sure if I am doing it correctly form wise.


It says engage your gluts, but i am feeling it on the front of my thigh (bent leg) and inside thigh (straight leg)

I am trying not to lean forward and sit back into it, but I do not feel it in my butt.

How can you tell if you are doing it correctly? Where do you feel it?
