This is the first time I've rented using EA.
What's the best strategy for dealing with a family and lots of luggage?
(1) Go get the car yourself and bring it around to pick up people and luggage by the curb.
(2) Bring everyone and everything out to the Emerald Aisle to get the car.

Are you familiar with the Orlando airport? If you get the car by yourself, you will have to circle around to get back to baggage claim. They will not let you wait there for long, so you have to be sure the rest of the family will be waiting in the right spot. There's just 2 of us, we rent a cart and take the luggage over to the EA.

Thanks DebbieB!
That's the kind of info I was looking for.
If you have to go clear around the airport to get back to luggage claim (twice if you don't do it right the first time) then it's obviously not worth it.

Also if they see my family and all our luggage they might feel sorry for me and actually give me a full-size as I reserved!

you could go over to the EA aisle to scope out what is there......and probably find a luggage cart that someone has not turned in .....and take that back to get your luggage....

if there is a car you really want.....you could always lock it and take the keys with you as you retrieve your luggage with the family.....

however, you may find it is just as easy to get your luggage first since the baggage handling at orlando is very good ....then go to the EA as a group......you can walk right out of the baggage pickup and across the street to National so you do not have to use the elevator to use the under road passage way...

as far as going around the airport.....you are probably better off not to do that with increased security .....

:p ROTFLMAO! Lawgs, you are a man after my own heart. While we're waiting for the luggage carousel, I always do a quick cart run; hitting the taxi stand, bus stop, and if necessary, National's EA. I have always found a cart before my luggage arrives. The money I save, I use for the toll booths. :D

Car seat, Stroller, at least two big suitcases, one kid's suitcase with toys, older son's backpack, at least two carryons, etc. We always flagdown a porter in baggage claim who just follows us right to the EA and whatever car we pick. Last August the porter had to follow us all over the National portion of the garage as there were no cars left in the Aisle and no National people around to help! (Which worked out well, since we snagged a Premium Class car for the EA price - just told the attendant at the exit booth that their were no full size cars to be had. Worked out great!)
