Has anyone used them before?? Rates are much lower than the others...and located at MCO. Found them in Orland Info. packet I received today.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

I too would be interested. I recently had two rotten experiences with Hertz and want to try another service.

If you thought Hertz was bad, BEWARE! Also, located at MCO does NOT mean they are in the airport , but somewhere close and unless something changed in the past few days this company is not in the airport.

My experience and the postings of others on these boards have pretty much convinced me to stick with the majors. I use Hertz all the time and have had nothing but good experiences in Orlando. I have also used Budget, National and Dollar at Orlando.
My brother used one of the off site rental places last time. It took him an hour and a half to get the car and then it was a WRECK! Return was about 45 minutes since they had NO auto return and you had to stand in line with the people renting! He said they rerented his car without even cleaning it (and he had two small kids in and out of that car for a week, so I bet it needed cleaning!)

Just Me Again,

I just called E-Z rent to get some more info. They are NOT at the terminal...but 2 miles away. They do have a free shuttle. Doesn't really matter to me if they are off-site.
Also, found out they are affiliated with L & M. Haven't heard much about them other than mousesaver doesn't recommend them.
Anyone had any GOOD to say about L & M?

Thanks

Not sure whether the majors also have a good experience batting average of but 98 to 99% but the consensus of DIS folks about L&M appears to give them a 99% batting average, the other one percent had to do with such things as reservations simply not being honored.

Also I am told that L&M (and a few others) requires that you have collision insurance on your own car or else you have to buy their collision coverage. Car rental companies have their policies regarding insurance, etc. on their web sites, you can also get this informaion via Travelocity.com

However you have an advantage with the majors because in case of problems you have more leverage in that you can take action in the city where they have an office or agency and closest to your home town as opposed to a mom and pop agency where action can be taken only in Orlando and environs.

"Sorry there is no car for you. It's daytona week and we can get an easy $50. plus taxes per day for our cars" an L&M agent was quoted as saying (through a long grapevine).

My L&M experience was that they tried to convince me a Corolla was a full size. When I questioned the agent he said that a Corolla was full size "this week". "This week" was President's Day week and it appeared they were reassigning the car size based on demand. They then started that stuff about since I did not have a copy of my insurance card I would have to buy insurance from them. I rent cars once a month from the majors and never get this.

Since I had been nervous about them I had a back up with Hertz and just walked away. I use a Diner's Club which has primary insurance coverage so this garbage about my insurance company was not flying. My insurance company never needs to know if I have an accident in a rental car. (And I have had one that was my fault, I dinged a headlight in a parking garage in Spain)

Reservations are automatically cancelled after 1-hour of expected arrival time. If Renter is in route and notifies us of their delay, a reinstatement fee may apply to all late arrivals to guarantee rate category on reserve

Every other agency holds your reservation until midnight. Not a company you should want to do business with. They tried to cancell a whole block of reservations booked through an internet agency (I don't remember if it was travelocity or expedia) because they weren't exepcting as many discounted reservations as they got.

There have been several posts from people who were victimized by creative car classification.

Of course MOST of the people have had good experiences or they'd be out of business.

Lewis,
That is an AMAZING quote. So if you are circling because of bad weather you can spend your life savings on one of those air phones for the joy of paying a reinstatment fee to get your rate.

YUCK! I don't think this is worth the effort. I have had LOTS of flights be more than an hour late. (I flew both Tuesday and Wed this week and both flights were over an hour late!)
