E-Z rent-a-car

haha.......funny you should say that. I looked for a stay park and fly hotel on buyreservations.com and found one for $153 which included parking for 10 days,

It's a marriott hotel..well I went on the Marriott site and the cost of the same package, same hotel was $272.

They also have on their web site a guarantee you will get the best rate by booking through Marriott.com directly or they will match the price plus give you 25% off that price you find.
https://www.marriott.com/hotel-prices/travel.mi

There is a form to fill it and the rules are detailed. Can't be priceline, wholesale company, etc. which buyreservation is neither.

Well I sent the form in and got a reply...........We are now staying there for $110 total which includes the 10 days parking the car we need, shuttle to and from the hotel is included. :) :)

Excellent!!! Where are you from?

Flying out of Philadelphia International Airport, Live in Southern New Jersey. My wife always likes going to a hotel near the airport so she doesn't have to get up so early and being so tired the first night in Disney. This hotel is about 2 or 3 miles from the Airport.

I completely understand your wife's logic on that. so much less stress. I kind of guessed you are from NJ. ;) (NO sarcasm meant, honest).

I would recommend staying far, far away from EZ Car Rental. The low rates are not worth the headaches you will get with this company.

We rented with them only to find out that they didn't even have any car for us when we showed up to pick it up. Their only option was to pay more for a more expensive car or just stand there and wait for an indefinite amount of time until a car becomes available.

At your own risk, but I am NEVER renting with them again!

So what did you end up doing? It would definitely be horrible to be stuck at the airport with no rental. :/

We went to the Avis counter next door and they were able to help us. We got a bigger car at practically to the same price that we were going to pay with EZ. Avis to the rescue!

Nice you were able to get the extra 25% off the rates. I don't think they had to. I'm pretty sure the buyreservation rates are negotiated "consolidator" rates. Plus the rates include extended parking. The match doesn't include package rates which include the room and other components.

Just make sure, I'm sure you did this comment is for others reading this thread, your confirmation from Marriott confirms free parking after you check out.

I do have it in writing about the 10 day parking on my confirmation and believe me if I see I got charged when I get home I will be emailing them back for the credit. Also this hotel even though it is only about 3 miles from the airport, it's kind out in the middle of a swamp just off I95.........The parking lot is not gated but seems very secure, we have stayed there many times and our car has been fine. So actually when we chec out of the hotel we will have our final bill so I think really they are not going to know for sure when we come back 10 days later to get our car. I don't think they are very strict with their parking situation, their lot is huge and is never ever even close to be full that we have seen.

It's not a special package deal, the parking was included in the rate on the marriott.com site. They way I read it, they will match any reservation that you can do on their site.

The guarantee does not apply to the following rate types:

•Rates that are not publicly available, such as negotiated corporate or group rates. Buyreservations is available to everyone

•Discount rates offered only to members of groups or individuals who meet previously-specified criteria, including AAA members, seniors, government employees, or Marriott Rewards members. Doesn't apply

•Package rates that include the room and other components such as travel, car rental, entertainment, and/or non-breakfast meals. Doesn't apply

•Package or group add-on rates that extend the length of a stay. Doesn't apply

•Rates negotiated for stays extending beyond 30 nights. Doesn't apply
•Rates that are available on auction Web sites. not an auction site

•Rates available on Web sites, such as Priceline and Hotwire, that do not disclose the hotel brand until the reservation is completed. Doesn't apply

•Pre-paid rates that involve a voucher or other form of pre-paid certificate (including electronic vouchers and certificates) for a hotel stay outside the United States and Canada. Doesn't apply

I know at some car rental places at MCO you have to take a bus to get your car or something. How can I find out which places are AT MCO and which places have the bus thing. I really don't want to bus with a toddler.

Never mind! FOUND IT! :)

OK Ok- so WHY is EZ so cheap???? Think it's worth it to give them a try????

Walt Disney World

At Orlando International Airport (MCO) all of the major rental car agencies (Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty), plus a couple of less-known agencies, are located right in the parking garage across from the terminals. After going to the rental desk or kiosk in the terminal, you walk out to the garage and get your car. Some agencies (Alamo/National) even offer frequent renter and/or online check-in systems that allow you to skip the desk or kiosk in the terminal and go straight to the garage and pick your car.

MCO airport also has over 15 less-known agencies that are off-site. For those agencies you’ll need to grab a shuttle from Level 1. Of the off-site agencies, the most promising (based on my readers’ reports) are SIXT and Payless. They sometimes have excellent rates and they are both national or international chains.

In addition, there are Alamo/National locations on-site at Walt Disney World, which is very convenient should you wish to keep your car for only part of the trip.

There are also rental car locations at several of the hotels in the Downtown Disney area.

Update:
Picked up our minivan today at Budget, got a Chrysler Town & Country today, really really nice 8 day rental for $187.

We are really happy with it.

We picked up a Dodge Grand Caravan from EZ on 9/19, and returned it 9/28. It was easy enough picking it up, and it was clean, etc. However, the tire pressure light went on not long after picking it up. We figured it was due to temperature changes or whatever, put some air in, and all was well. Until our very last day. We went back to the car to head to the airport after a breakfast ADR and a couple of hours in MK, and one of the tires was almost entirely flat. We were able to drive to a gas station, refill it, and make it to the airport in time for our flight, but talk about stressful!!!

When we returned the car, we saw warnings pop up on the computer monitor, saying that the vehicle has a flat tire that needs to be replaced and that it's 100 days over due for an oil change. So they KNEW about a problem with the tire and rented it to us anyway. I didn't have time to throw a fit at that point, but I've completed their survey and let them know that I'm not pleased.

To be fair, their pricing was better than anyone else I found, and the tire was the only issue we had (so far - I haven't seen the final charges hit my credit card yet, to see if there are any surprises). I'd consider renting from them again, but only if their pricing was significantly less than other companies.

since it showed up a short time after you started to drive it, they probably did not know about it. Now, the oil change is an issue. Tells me they don't do very good maintenance on their vehicles.

they don't do very good maintenance on their vehicles.

Probably true. It could also mean they have their own computers which tell them when it's time to service their vehicles and their technicians don't bother to reset the computer.

Also true. When that was a question I used to look in the door to see when the last service was performed. Usually it was because the computer was not reset.

For what it's worth, we have rented from EZ quite a few times now and have reservations with them for February. We've have never had a problem, never pressured to buy extra anything (I always bring proof of insurance with me, just in case) and we've always found their cars to be clean and ready and have never experienced any mechanical issues. The bonus for us is that EZ will add an additional driver (spouse) to their already low rates for free. To get this "bonus" you need to book through their website and call reservations 800 number to add your spouse. This makes their already low rates even more competitive. I think a lot of the problems people have mentioned can happen with any rental company and that even the larger, better known companies don't always handle things the way we would expect them to. As I mentioned, we've never had any issues, but read their policies and rental agreement first to be sure it covers what you are looking for. We all know that any disruption, no matter how small, in vacation time can be very frustrating! :)
