Just bought our tickets - 4 day park hopper. How do you handle e-tickets? Are they just scanned at the gate or do you have to turn them in for a paper ticket? Just thought I'd figure this out before. Thanks.

If you bought from Disney.com you go to the turnstiles. They will give you your ticket, take your picture and have you sign each ticket. Some of the 3rd party sellers are the same, some make you go to the ticket booths. I'm not sure which one do.

If there's a barcode on it, you can go straight to the turnstiles, and they will print out a paper ticket for you.

i have a question: are the tickets that are printed at the turnstyles the same as the tickets that are mailed to you if you choose? any advantages to the mailed ticket other than getting them in your hands at that time (i assume there is minimal delay in having to issue ticket at turnstyle but thats about it?)

Yes, they are the same. Do NOT have them mailed to you; they take forever. At least that was my experience the first time I went to DL. I called Disney once or twice before they arrived, it took so long! Just take your print out to the gate, it will be the same paper ticket they would mail to you, anyway, and it just spits right out at the turnstyle.

thanks for reply! will go the eticket route. :)

when they quoted me the mailing fee ($5 for 10 day service non trackable or $15 for 8 day service that is trackable), i was kinda surprised considering the price of tickets.

I wouldn't get them mailed either. The email is nice. If you forget the printouts at home you can reprint them at your hotel. Also, the tickets are so expensive. It would really, really suck to lose one before the trip somehow. So much better to have the assurance that it's in your email and ready to go.
