E Tickets - Getaway Today or Undercover Tourist

Getaway Today recommends waiting to link their E Tickets to the Disneyland app until after arriving at the park. The example given is that the barcodes on the E Tickets may be different than the hard tickets that the gate attendant gives you and that could cause problems.

Undercover Tourist says it’s fine to link their tickets to the Disneyland app as soon as they are received and it’s not necessary to wait until arrival.

Do these two places sell different types of tickets or something?

I haven't used Getaway, but used UT for my August trip. Worked great. I have used them at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando before without any problems. My UT tickets linked just fine at DLR without having to hit a ticket booth. I also bought Maxpass ahead of time without issues.

This is secondhand information I have read here...(but I’ll try it out next week) the barcodes change when you get your paper ticket at the turnstiles but your scanned ticket in the app should change accordingly...
you just have to be careful naming the tickets because you can’t rename them and if your photos don’t match the names it will be confusing...

It doesn’t matter where your buy the tickets because all “straight to the gate e-tickets” will have the same type of barcodes...

Just checking in. How did it work out? I'm planning on getting GAT tickets this week for a June trip. Never know when that price will go up out of the blue.

It worked perfectly...
bought he tickets from undercover tourist and a couple minutes later I got them per mail (it took a little longer than the ones I bought directly from Disney last year)... I scanned the ticket into the app a couple of days before I actually went to the parks and named it... and then I simply showed the tickets from the app at the turnstiles. The CM printed my paper ticket and took the photo and off I went...
I only needed the paper ticket for the MM (the CM said that you need to show the paper ticket for that and the ticket in the app wouldn’t be enough... but that would be the case for all tickets and had nothing todo with UC...)
Saved me $30 for a 5day park hopper ticket...

We always use Get Away Today and I was able to put the barcodes in that came on the tickets to my email and when we scanned into the gate they automatically changed and I didn’t have to redo it. Easy peasy.

Can you help me out and answer a question please? I’ve never purchased through GAT but I might this trip. I’m unsure exactly who the third person in my group it’ll be with my daughter and I. Do I have to provide the names of each person for the tickets when I purchase them?

Not at all, you don’t have to put a name on the ticket until you put it in the app.

undercover tourist ticket prices seem to be quite a bit cheaper than get away today which surprised me
